New BSM Owner
Hi there
Being following this forum for quite some time and thought I would share a pic of my new 1M Coupe which I collected today. I put my deposit down back in Dec 2010 when the car was first previewed and have been waiting patiently ever since then. I was the second new owner of a 1M to take delivery from my dealer! First Impressions very good, it rides better than my 123d Coupe and steers sweetly. Cant really use all of the power yet as I need to run it in first, although it feels mighty upto 4k rpm. |

Looks absolutely amazing! (just like mine LOL!)
Congrats. I'm being very ginger with mine too. Have you tried the M button yet? I haven't and won't until that service which seems to be getting closer very quickly! That car just eats up the miles. Agonising 4 sleeps (3 now?) Edwardio eh. We definitely need to arrange a UK meet even if it's not to the Nurburgring. There's a few of us now. |

Congrats with you BSM 1M! I have almost the same ( with tinted windows ). Don't be to gentle with it during the breaking in, either did i
In my dealership they told me that it was no problem as long you drive it warm on a normal way. Have fun and drive safe

Thanks for the feedback. I have tried the M button but only for a quick try but will leave it off until the run in period has been completed.
This car is my daily driver and interested in how you guys will be using your 1M's and what mileage you expect to put on them each year? I'm having a tracker installed (required by the insurer) next week and will get the car detailed after a couple of months. It would be great to have a UK meeting at some point!! |

Picked mine up on Saturday. Our cars could well have been next to each other on the line and on the same boat/transporter! Mine is a daily driver too which is why I got it nearly loaded. I get a company car allowance which part funded the purchase. Have put nearly 350 miles on it already though I will normally do 10k per year. My insurer BMW, didn't require a tracker though I am considering one. For the first time, I am also considering GAP/Shortfall insurance too. |

Ok, had the car a few days now and first impressions are;
Everybody keeps pointing out how muscular the car looks. I must admit having seen the car only in photos before taken delivery, it looks much more 'beefy' in the flesh. It has a batmobile esq look in BSM!!! There definatley is an exhaust drone at a cruise (with slight throttle opening between 2-3k rpm)which some people have highlighted but personally dont mind. I suppose it would be tiring on a long motorway run but the 1M is not designed for that. Traction control light can flicker frequently on undulating road surfaces even at moderate speeds in the dry. Would need to take care in the wet. Handling is great. Corners very well with little roll and the damping is sound, much better than my 123d M Sport coupe. Despite the very focused design of the car it is actually quite a refined cruiser when you want it to be. Finally didnt realise cruise control was standard which was a pleasant surprise! |
