Headlight Bracket

I took my car in for warranty maintenance (replacing all injectors, cracked valve cover, oil change, spark plugs) and asked them to check a few things for me.

The driver's side headlight has a little play in it, and my SA said that the bracket is broken (obviously doesn't affect anything, who knows how long it's been that way, bought the car used). Also found out it was in an accident, and that is why the bracket is broken. My SA said that the whole headlight assembly would need to be replaced (~$1500) since it all comes as one piece.

This is the diagram from RealOEM.com and I think it is the #5 listed (05; BRACKET HEADLIGHT LEFT; 63126940663; $4.75). Is this the bracket that mounts the headlight? I don't have the car, as it is in the shop so I can't get any pictures.

Long story, sorry.

CLIFF NOTES:
- Driver Headlight loose
- BMW says comes with headlight assembly, only way to order it (~$1500 to fix)
- is #5 the bracket? (I'll try to get BMW to take pictures of it for me
- would this be a difficult fix for a DIY'er?

Yes you can attach that to the unit. I remember this mounting tab when I made my headlights, you can even reform some ABS plastic to make your own mounting tab. Good luck!

Awesome! When I get the car back I'm going to try to take some pictures of the broken bracket and also see what I can do with it

@ellioth22 go to realOEM.com and look up the diagram and the part number will be listed underneath. You can then order that part number from BMW
