Active Autowerke Intercooler installed

We just finished installing an Active Autowerke intercooler for the 135i.

A few pics:

Yep.

The top third looks to be a bit of a waste though... The inlet and outlet are on the bottom I imagine?

How much more area is exposed to the airflow? It looks a little thinner than the OEM number as well, any smaller there?

Well done Andrew, seems like a perfect fit. Nice and neat. Look forward to your impressions, info and getting mine installed next month.

It certainly looks neat. You can't really tell the diff between OE intercooler and this except maybe it is more silver and bigger. It doesn't look rice though. I have been focusing on testing my suspension for set up reasons so have not paid as much attention to the intercooler. But the car definitely pulls stronger, no doubt about that.

Any idea on how much HP gain? And what price are we looking at for this?

According to the AA website, dyno results for the intercooler show an air temp drop of close to 30° F in the intake manifold and a gain of +12rwhp. Rather impressive I'd say.

I'm just not sure exactly how much cutting is required to install.
