I think we will get a 123 as well. To the poster who said that a 30k 123 will dilute the brand, I beg to differ. BMW used to sell the e36 318 for $32,000 10 years ago. Since that car disappeared, they never really had a replacement for it in that price range. And you didn't see that car dilute the brand or damage BMW's long term image as evidenced by the fact you are looking at purchasing a BMW currently.

Up untill now, from the facts, there will be no 123i or any other ones except 128i and 135i which is official. From my point of view they will lauch those two first. If for any reason they will see the need for a model a bit cheaper than the 128i they will do something. But for the moment its 128i and 135i.
Moreover, from what I see here in Montreal and the surrounding areas, the new 3 series coupe has not sold alot here. I would say 97% of the time it is the sedan that we see more often on the streets. Coupes are targeted to very specific people and taste. So if the pricing is not attractive this car will not be a success from what I think. I would like to see this car be a successful model but BMW needs to sell this car at a reasonable-attractive price if they want this car to succeed. Also, what i'd like to know is, in the rest of Canada, what are the percentages of the 3 series coupe and sedan roughly that you see on a regular basis? |

I wouldn't be terribly suprised if they brought out a 123 at some point in the future here, given that we have a 323 here... But since they were released I think I've only seen 2 323's here being driven around by girls (pretty hot though). The thing I find about the 323 is that after "must have" options like upgraded wheels from those 16s and heated seats, you may as well get a 328. I don't think 323 sales have been good, and I don't think they should release a 123i here, but the powers that be have decided Canada needs the 323 so who knows... I think a lot of people would rather see a 1 series diesel variant, but with all the problems with how dirty north american diesel has been until recent ULSD regs I think that may be a while. |

I have zero experience with this, but I'd be curious if the warranty will still apply in Canada. I've spoken with Infiniti dealers who tell me that Nissan will not support any warranty work for US-imported cars. HOWEVER, you can pay for the work, then make a claim with (in this case) Infiniti USA. GM is cool with the US imports though, I'm positive of this. Anyone have any experience with this? FYI... If the 135i lands at 45k, who buys that over a 3-series? |

So the same powertrain in a smaller pkg & a $10K savings, I think there'll be a line up.

JMO, but i doubt they consider a car that's not even available in this market. Imported STi are a drop in the bucket & not really the target competitor anyway.

Guys I have some info. I was at the dealer this morning to get a piece for my car and I asked at Rive-Sud BMW dealer about the 1 series and pricing. The salespeson said the car will most probabily start at 30-32k and that he would have the exact figures in 2 to 4 weeks! He took my number and he will get back to me as soon as he has any news.
I was very surprised about this and happy, but do not want to have my hopes up about it. I will wait for any news from him and will advise you guys once I have something official. |

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the 30-32k figure is most likely for the base 128. This is not far off from what a lot of folks are already speculating (along with most guesses of the base 135 starting at 39k and rising to 45k optioned out).

Due the fac that car priced are still set as if the Dollar was at $0.70 the 128 will probably start around 35-36k, and the 135 in the 40's.
I was just in to Edm. BMW Saturday and the 328i in the showroom starts at 42 k, and the 128 is basically a smaller version of it. Personnally I expect the 135 to come in at or above the 328 as it's got the 300 hp, that's why I'm thinking of the 128i, as it will meet my needs, and should be plenty of fun, for a not completely rediculous price. |

Have u priced out your 328i? With a couple of options here and there, you'll be getting up around 45k. And u might want to double check your MSRP for the 328i coupe. On BMW.ca it lists the coupe 328i starting at 43,600 with no options. Might as well ride with the extra 70 horses!!! You'll never know when you'll need them!! |

The dealer closest to me believes the 135i will top off at around 45-47K before GST depending on the options you choose. But he was not certain. It's all specualtion and heresay for now.

I plan to stay under 40k, sooooo the 128 should be right in the neighborhood for me. According to the salseguy they'll get pricing in December, but then it seems that everyone gives a different answer for when they'll have that info so I'll have to wait for it to pop up on the net, or until the guy give me a call. Don't get me wrong, I love the look of the 328/335, and would love the power of the 135, but price-wise it just doesn't make sense for me right now, especially since it'll be a snow lover too(well maybe:iono, and well I know how turbo + snow works out thanks to the occasional winter drive in the XR.:headbang: |

I don't know about the price of the 135i in canada but, i hope it will be under 45 000.
The 335i sedan with sport package + leather seat are $55 600 PDSF in Montreal... If the 135i is more than 45 000, i'll put the 10 000 difference on the 335i... |
