Almost fully loaded. 6MT, M Sport, Nav, Premium 2 w/ Coral red int., HK, CA, BMW Apps, AMW assist, and depending on how my finances are looking when I get back, I'll probably end up buying some of the inexpensive dealer fit BMW Performance pieces.

Besides checking mileage you could probably reset the mpg gauge right when you drop it off. If you get it back and average mpg is something really low like 8mpg you know they were beating on it.

I had a new 328 as a loaner so I said ok. I noticed when I got home my mileage at pick up was 60 miles over the mileage at drop off. Now, in their defense they could have entered the incorrect mileage at drop off and I should have noted the mileage but I forgot. I'm going in for service in a few weeks and I'll bring in my last receipt. Each time I take my car in the service techs always say "Nice car!".
What dealer was this? I hope not Laurel. haha I have to drop my car off this weekend for a headlamp bulb that's very dim. Luckily SpacE82 noticed it on the way to the Cars and Coffee meet and told me about it. So I have to removed the LEDs, BMS Intake and JB4 tonight.

That being said i still Have 1 Free oil Change in the Current Regular warranty plus a 2 years CPO warranty starting on october.

am not gonna do that oil change at the Stealership. kids who work there are like wolves waiting for sport cars to come just to get the chance to gun them big time! now i'll have to check my rims to make sure there are no cracks even though my Michelin PSS are 2 days old and i had checked the rims 2 days ago they were Perfect!

What a Hustle man! i would have a heart Attack if i own a Panamera Turbo S & having no choice but to service it

Let's just say it wasn't one of the following; Westmont, Schaumburg, Lake Bluff, or Elmhurst.

Well that's good to know. I was going ask Laurel tomorrow if I can bring my car to Patrick for small issues even though it's a lease cause it's such a drive sometimes to go to Westmont, but hate wasting the gas. I know Laurel is kinda strict about if you purchased the car from them to get a free car wash. haha

My dealer always puts 7 miles on the car after every service, i assume they have a set route to test cars after service. I have no problem with that but anything over 20 miles i would be upset. Nothing is more embarrassing than a customer picking up a car that is was not service properly.

why wouldnt you be.. .. as far as your post goes, other than "your feeling" you have absolutly zero proof anybody drove your car.. The oil could have gotten up to temp waiting to get washed before you picked it up..

Before you jump to conclusion and cause everyone else to ..... do this...

Call your SA... ask for the Key read at check in... all dealers do this( they have to on every car) .. this records your mileage at time of drop off.. then look at your invoice and see the out mileage.. HOPEFULLY they did drive it and put a couple of miles on it to make sure the programming did not cause an issue.. 2,3,4,5,6 miles would be enough..

until you do this. you have nothing.

I work really close to a MB service location. It never fails, everytime I hear the distinctive sound of the 6.2 AMG engine, I look up to see it ripping down the street. It really makes me want to compile a video of these guys tearing into someone else's car.

Thank you for posting this thread up. I worry about this all the time. Naturally, I ordered mine and followed it from port to dealership counting each mile and ensuring that the car would not be driven off the showroom once it had arrived until it was in my possession once the deal had been complete. But it's important for all owners and potential owners to be aware and for dealers to know that we're cautious enough to determine if anything suspicious has occurred with OUR vehicles.

A friend of mine just told me a story. He dropped off is Nissan 350Z at the dealer because the trans was making a noise. He called the dealer a day or so later asking what they thought the noise was. The dealer told him they didn't hear it but one of the techs took it home overnight to listen if they heard anything. My buddy found out the tech lived across town about 25 miles away. My buddy babies his cars like crazy...needless to say he wasn't happy!

I don't worry much about this car, because I figure some dude dropping his m3 or m5 off is going to get abused not my car. Now back in the day when I dropped my evo off at a dealer to have whatever done I was worried because it would basically be fastest car on the lot.

Ah, a refreshing "words of wisdom" post.

OP, you are jumping to conclusions as you really don't have any proof.
So your engine was hot. Ok. Anytime an oil change is performed I expect the tech to test drive it and make sure all is well. If the tech does rev it and drives with some power, I really don't mind. Abuse is a different matter, but I don't think that's very common. This videos and reports we get are NOT the norm.
Your tech could have finished as you had come in.
Your car could have been sitting waiting for a car wash.

I never have them wash my 135i. They have "soft" cloth machines, so there is contact from dirty materials. I don't want that, thus I always let the SA know not to wash my car.

Why? Because it's so ugly?

Seriously, though, there's some major paranoia in this thread. The folks that work at dealerships see hundreds of cars per week. I'm pretty sure they're desensitized to 135i's by now (and believe it or not, no one else likes your car as much as you do).

Anyway, obviously there are exceptions, but it's kind of dick-ish to go through life assuming that service people are trying to screw you at every turn.
