Paddles retro-fit with clock ring and coding possible?

Having done a bit of coding and having done a transmission flash for somebody else that has paddles (and having to turn them back on...

I got to thinking...

Can we do a retro-fit that just replaces the wheel and clock-ring, code the car accordingly and viola!

Has anybody done this or had it done?

I'm wondering if in the EGS ecu we can't just make the following changes....as these were the differences I found between my car (08 135i vert no paddles) and the other car (09 335i w/paddles).

Mine/theirs

EL_INTERLOCK
nicht_aktiv/aktiv

NIC
nicht_aktiv/aktiv

PADDLES
wert_00/wert_02

They also had two additional lines of code....although I don't necessarily think these have anything to do with it.

ISO_OBD
wert_03

MIL_SCAN_TOOL
wert_01


After flashing his transmission the car ran and shift fine but as expected the paddles didn't work. His settings in his EGS file at that time looked identical to mine with the exception of the 2 additional lines of code. Once I restored his saved EGS file (I backed it up prior to the flash) he was up and running.

I'm also guessing there may be a VO change that has to be made.

I realize there is a retro-fit with a additional wiring harness, but having not seen it, I suspect it's running the paddles in parallel with the stock manual shifter and I'd rather not go that route if I can make it virtually stock and save the trouble and additional expense.

Also if somebody else has an 08 135i with paddles, would you mind posting your EGS file?

Hahaha...guess nobody has done or contemplated this?

Any chance somebody with an 08 vert w/paddles can PM a copy of their EGS file or compare it against what I listed and report back?

That was plan B

I know there are a few people on here that code their oners, there's more traffic, and I spend more time here, so I figured a discussion was more likely.

Guessing it hasn't been done, or since a lot of this stuff is fairly new to the DIYers, it's just a matter of figuring it and doing a DIY.
