135is wreck
The most brutal wreck of IS you'll witness on this forum. Need some advice on how I should proceed from here. Insurance is claiming it a total loss (by saying it is structurally damaged, firewall is damaged, etc.). I am not willing to give up on this as it was only 5 months old. Any advice will be appreciated.

Buy back and have a salvage title or take the loss and try to find another IS as close to your specs(or better) as possible. Sorry for your loss.

Id only buy it back if you plan on turning it into a track car. It sounds pretty bad, chock it up as a loss and go buy another.

I am fighting with my insurance trying to possess the parts from the is and put it on the 135i such as the PE, wheels, and tail lights. Do you think they will let me?

maybe. Youll have to give them some parts in return though. And they might charge you. If you can get to the car, your best bet is to swap them and dont ask. Swap your tails for 08 tails, the exhaust for a stock one, and the wheels for stock wheels. Maybe slip the guy at the impound lot a couple bucks.

Consider yourself extremely fortunate that the insurance company considers it a total loss.
I had a similar situation with my Z4 back in 2005. Unfortunately, it was not a write-off and only cost $20k to fix. But it cost me at least another $6K - $8K in diminished value when I traded it in on my 2008 1er 3 years later. Take the money and run......

Sorry to see your loss - as many noted, it is gone. Let insurance pay you and get a new one. You could buy back for a track car but even at that point, you are probably better buying a used 135i and turning that into a track car instead.

Man, that sucks, glad you're ok. I agree with the others, that one is gone. Even if you patch it back together, it'll never be the same.
Check autotrader, there are still a few new "IS" out there, but not many. If you can find one you like, you may even get a deal, I have to believe the dealers want the 2013 models off the lot |

You can buy it back with a salvage title. You can also insure it with comp any coll after you repair it. Hopefully you had gap insurance on your loan so you can just bounce to a new car. There are a ton of e92 m3s with low miles for the same price as you paid for the IS.
I paid 47500 for mine with a discount since this was my 6th BMW in 5 years from the same dealership. I put all the M parts on my car and I could have an M3 for the same price or less.. So unless you owned it free and clear, I would take the check and get a new something |

That car is done, I’m sorry OP.
Get the money from it, buy a used N54 and with the savings you can do a single conversion. That’s about as lemonade as these lemons will get, life threw you a curveball.

I'm glad you survived this wreck, homie. It looks like a really bad accident. I would get away from that car.

Sorry for you loss, but I'd look for a new one. If you keep the other it will always be a salvaged vehicle.
BTW Checkered Flag BMW in Virginia Beach, VA has a brand new 135is in it's inventory. I get emails from them all the time.

You do NOT want to sink money into that IMO. Insurance is calling it a total loss because it is. It'll cost over 50% of the value of the car to fix it for sure, it'll NEVER be worth anything ever again with a salvaged title, and worst of all it'll never drive quite right. Take your money, leave that mess, and get yourself another one. It sucks, but not as much as having the worlds worst and least valuable 135is.

Ugh, sorry to see that, but there's no way I would try to repair that. Like many have said previously, it'll never be the same plus the hit you'll take on valuation. Just try to find another one.
