when i'm ready to pick up an iCarbon hood i'm going with the M3 style, i've asked iCarbon but haven't got a reply so could you go in to detail how the open/close fintion of the M3 vents work
It was explained in another thread a while back, basically the honeycomb vents are bolted underneath the hood for easy install and removal. So basically you get a set of closed and a set of open vents. So when its nice out, warm out, etc. you keep the open ones in, and when its real rainy out u switch em out.

Not sure exactly how theyre attached, prob some kind of hard plastic screw/washer setup.

It probably wouldn't be hard to attatch some nice heavy duty magnets to the vents for easy removal/install.

I would have gone with one piece or the other, but not both...way too much carbon fiber on that car...not really my cup of tea, but that's just my opinion. Congrats on the parts and enjoy!

Thats what they said that these would bolt in and out. I saw the prototype in person and it bolted in and out but for some reason or another they opted not to do that. I bet they did that with the other hood too.

I will not be painting them as I like the cf look on a black car, hopefully later on I can get the ER widebody kit too

The phone was a Droid X

I washed it when I was done last night so better pics today

Are those hood vents functional? Personally, I like the look, but since my 135 is my daily and over the long-term I know I would get lazy about always trying to stay one step ahead of the weather, so knowing how much I would love to get the hood with functional vents the practical side of me is hoping that they are non-functional or that I should order the hood with non-functional vents.

Looks nice man...IMO the best color for so much CF....on the black car all the CF pieces compliments each other to make the whole look like it all belongs together....even the hood(not a fan of the bulge) looks integrated..Nice job !!
