Head Unit Replacement Help
My head unit has bricked itself after a collision and I need a OEM replacement. Bmw wants $900 for the part and I have to get it programmed. I need a cheaper alternative, my indy shop said if I get one off ebay it has to be the exact same one with matching numbers and even then it may not work as they are burned to the vin of the car. I found one on ebay that matches the main part number but not the other numbers on it. Has anyone done this themselves and had luck with a used part that was then programmed to their CAN BUS system? Or anyone know someone who can rebuild these units?
