Driver door handle warm to the touch and comfort access not working

As the title says my driver's side door handle is warm to the touch even sitting in an AC garage. Comfort access is not working. I've done some searching on the forums and it would appear the touch sensor is resin potted into the door handle and not serviceable or replaceable and has failed if the handle is warm. So I must get a new door handle to fix it.

However I can't find one anywhere. At this point I'd take new or used. All the new ones I'm finding are primer only and then I have to find a body shop to paint match and hope it turns out and they don't ruin the new sensor in the process.
Used.... nothing I'm finding on eBay etc. except for people listing 3 series handles saying they fit 1 series. Searching this forum confirms that is not the case.

So anyone know where I can find a replacement driver's side door handle?

Yeah even as a desperate last measure I tried my local bmw stealerships and they say there's none available in America or Germany and no ETA.
