Brake clearance on fronts

Does anyone know how much further the caliper sticks out compared to the hub? Like if you look at the wheel hub from the side the caliper is taller than the surface of the hub, but by how much?

I'm trying to figure out how much lip I can get on the fronts with a "super low" disk type rim and if it will clear the brakes. 18x9 et38 is what I'm looking at but the lip amount is in question. The more lip, the less clearance.
