With idrive, do u lose one cup holder?
Does the Dirive take up the cupholder space? Also one of the cars on the lot had no idrive but 2 cop holdes near arm rest and one more to the right of ashtray like in the 6 series ( Pop up kind in metallic )
I am not sure if it is a pop up one or something and if it is standard |

I tend to drink things with lids like snapples, sodas in plastic bottles, etc... So spilling is not much of a concern for me. However having somewhere to store that drink while I'm driving that is within reach so I can take a drink if needed is. I wish they would have put holders in the door like my wife's Miata. That would have worked perfect for me.

The extender cup holder by the passenger seat is the one I used the most. The one under the armest is almost useless. Speaking of food, I had houston's takeout tonight and to avoid the stink, I had all windows and sunroof opened.
The exhaust note.... man... that was music to my ears.

Cup holders should not a proper car have, ergo, the 1-Series is improper.

Is the popup cupholder on cars without iDrive? I don’t remember seeing it on non-nav cars. Also, the online configuration from BMW only shows the popup cupholder when nav is added.

Here are photos of the cupholder that you get with the I-Drive.
I've also heard that some cars without I-Drive have them, but I'm not sure why or which ones. With cupholder in place and with it taken out. I've not had any problem hitting it with my knee when riding in the passenger seat.

I got no iDrive, but the extra cupholder. I still don't understand why (even the sales could not answer)..
On the stick it is an 'Included' item... :iono: But I use that one more often than the one next to armrest, since I used to the one on my CooperS.

Sometimes I take long drives in the car - having a good place to hold a bottle of water is mandatory. I cannot afford the distraction of having to fish for the freakin' bottle around the seat, passenger parcel net or some other obscure place. At least I think the 1's cupholders under the armrest can hold a bottle - the origami ones in my 335 are completely, utterly and immensely useless.

Same here. I swapped the cupholders in my car for the euro tray!
