Making Progress!
Finally this waiting thing is coming to an end. After 5 months of waiting. Car is being built this week. Delivery is set for 7 May. Did the loan today (3.89% for 60 months--SCU). Now the only decision is what to do with a 300 Euro credit I have at the dealer. Options are:
1) carbon fiber rear spoiler 2) alarm 3) CD changer I'll end up getting all 3 of these things, but only 1 locally due to this credit that just materialized. The other parts I'll get from carguymo ;-) Anyone install a CD changer yet? Plug and play? I think you need two parts....the changer and a new panel piece??? Decsions, decisons...

I'd let a pro do the rear spoiler.

No, just something owed to me. Has nothing to do with the car purchase.

For sure. They have a 123d with it in their showroom. They did a good job mounting it. My main attraction to it is the additional downforce. The 1er at high speed moves around far more than my TT did, which I think the spoiler might help.

Perhaps true, but I like my CDs. In any case, I'm thinking spoiler first. The alarm seems DIY enough...and is cheaper from the US than getting here in Germany.

Definitely get the CF spoiler! I use to think the way you do about CD's until my son straightened me out. Now its iPod/USB for me. Just put all your music on USB sticks, I won't buy an iPod. No need for music anywhere besides my car.

Get the CD changer installed at the dealer. The alarm seems like an easy DIY then have the dealer activate it. The spoiler also seems like an easy DIY. Get some fishing line and auto goo gone to take the old one off then throw the new one on. I would be scared to rip out the dash to toss in a CD changer and play with all those wires.

I'd say skip the CD changer and get an iPod and iPod adapter instead. If you rip all your music to the Apple lossless format it will sound identical to the original CD and you'll be able to hold a LOT more music then any CD changer. (6 disc CD changer = 7.4 hours of music 60GB iPod = 150+ hours of music even with lossless compression)
