On this model what does moving the shift lever to the sport position do? Does it change the shifting point to a higher RPM? My 2012 135i has 2 sport conditions. Does the 2012 325i act like one of these?

Yes, it does what pretty much all sport modes do. It should down shift with breaking, too.

It changes the up-shift points to higher RPMs and downshifts more readily (like when you lift off going down hill to induce some engine breaking). You can also 'manually' shift up and down when the auto-stick is in sport mode by pushing the lever forward or backwards.

edit: yep, davis beat me to it.
