1M with M3 DKG final drive

Hello all,

I was doing some calculation for my 135 and found out that the 1M is using the final drive of the M3 DKG (3.154). What if we can mount the final drive of the M3 with manual gearbox? The ratio is 3.85.

I did the maths for you, here u go (speeds are in km/h):

1M stock:

1M with M3 manual axle ratio

If that modification is possible, it would make the 1M very interesting on a track... but note it is really shorter...

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but I searched and did not find anything.

Cheers.

I had done some acceleration modeling of the 1M and accidentally used the 3.85 final drive gearing.

The acceleration curve in 1st gear is something else. I think 1st gear traction would be a challenge.

My top speed limiter will be removed next week and then tested on a 3 mile straight. I'll have a gps speedo in the car for comparison to the speedometer.

Indeed, acceleration in first gear and probably second would be difficult without simply massive wheelspin. Might need to leave the MDM on to get out of the paddock! But with 60 mph (100kph) just at the top of second, and top of 4th at 115 or so, that sure makes it interesting. That would be some incredible acceleration!

Oh wait, I can hear someone now saying that the reason this wasn't done out of the box is because it would make the 1M faster than the e9x m3 (LOL!!).

It's hard enough to keep the tires under this thing as it is!!!
