I've been running a Redline with a ZR3 shifter in my X5, my wife has a 9500 in her S5 and I have an old 8500 in my 1. If I had to do it again I would probably go for a 9500 instead of the Redline.

I had an Escort Passport Max hardwired yesterday and have only driven about 20 miles with it. It alerted once (Ka band), and I liked the audio alerting me in a human voice what the threat was. What I don't like (so far) is how hard it is to view the display due to 1) my chosen mounting location (to the right of the rearview mirror), which is considerably outside my direct line of sight while driving; 2) the OLED display which I find isn't necessarily easier to view than traditional displays; 3) the size and brightness of the display. I'll be adjusting the mounting location and settings over the next few days... I'm confident I will find a combination of adjustments that will work well. If the Max really does combine the features of the 9500 with the range of the Redline, it should be a winner. I'm looking forward to driving past locations of known false alarms that my previous detector alerted on to see how the Max handles them.

Where are you in Ohio BTW? Let us know how long-term works out...I may want to upgrade and run a MAX in the E82 for DD and keep the 9500ix for the E86 |

Mine will be here Tues. I've had the 9500ix and Red Line. If the new one combines both the attributes of the other two it will be great. BTW I had the dealer install the hard wire when I bought my car

It's really awesome, never drive without it. Plus the Escort Live is pretty cool and you can connect your phone via bluetooth to the Live adapter and it updates to their database where hot spots are. This notifies others with Escort live of those areas in real time.
