They come ridiculously over-packaged, don't they? I mean, I get that they're expensive and are being shipped a long way...but watch out for the styrofoam peanuts!

Even $1k is ridiculous!! Makes my weenie e36 ZKW + xenon retrofit for $600 back in 2005 seem like child's play.
Haven't opened the box yet, my wife snapped that picture while I'm at work. If the tail lights were any indication of their packing skills, can't wait to see how many pounds of styrofoam they use this time |

I had to plug them in to see what the corona rings looked like. Wiring for that is the same at least. Still waiting on my D1S bulbs and wiring supplies to arrive, it looks like the project is going to be pushed to March. |

Man I love how these headlights look without the orange corners. Yet another thing to add to the list of things I want to do.

It has been NLA since late last summer. That's why I asked how you got a harness. Either way, I will be building a harness. It's only a few wires between the FRM, headlights and level sensors.

However, it seems that the actual cable kit (61120443691)is still available, which is probably the most important part. Else I can get used.

I bought something totally unrelated to the headlights.
Installed in under an hour It was a bit of an impulse buy as I planned to pick up an exhaust much further down the road. It seems like there aren't many left out there so I pulled the trigger as I didn't want to be left high and dry. So far my impressions are good. The tone and sound remind me of the stock e46 m3 muffler minus the rasp. Last edited by E91WAG3N; 02-18-2016 at 04:11 PM.. |

Did everyone get the feeling it was going to be hard to find a PE all of a sudden!? Proper shot of it installed - I also picked up rear and side OEM sunshades. Last edited by E91WAG3N; 02-20-2016 at 08:47 PM.. |

Just installed my PE. Sounds nice to those outside the car. I was under the impression I would get a ton more sound with the windows up, but its still pretty tame. Thinking an open intake next to get some more sound out of the sweet six.

Love how quick you've got to the mods on the 128i. Car looks fantastic and interesting you wen't from turbo to NA.
Not trying to hijack this thread.. But I've got a pair of depo v2 headlights for halogen equipped 128s that I'm going to be uninstalling and putting up for sale ($275) in the upcoming week. They have been fantastic and plug in play. Night and day difference on how it made the car look. Only negative was the the daytime bulbs were still halogen so I had to turn those off.

There is not much room to pull out the LCM harness and re-pin it. I'm pretty hesitant to go in and start pulling wires without an actual diagram. I have been unable to find a model specific pin layout diagram for my year/model e82. Now, my game plan is to adapt the headlights to my existing LCM (basically how the aftermarket lights are setup) rather than adapting my LCM/car to the headlights. I was able to wire the low beams up but they flicker once you turn the car on. The fix to that issue is to code out the voltage check/low beam failure, however my old computer with XP I was using to code died so I'm stuck at the moment. |

Agreed. It's pretty tame compared to what I was expecting from inside the cockpit. In the time I've had it on the car it seems to have quieted down a bit. Perhaps I've just become accustomed to it?

My gas mileage dropped too.... There is a PE intake for sale on here. Still too much $$$ but it has the special sound tube to bring it right up behind the dash.

My headlight retrofit is finally complete. Quick pic I snapped this afternoon -
I've put about 10,000 miles on it since I picked it up in late 2015. Since my last post I had the coils and spark plugs replaced under CPO warranty. I also did a full fluid change as the trans and diff fluids were likely original. My runflats still have plenty of life in them. I was hoping to do RSFB and 1M arms along with MPSS at the same time but I'm nowhere near needing tires. I may go ahead and do the arms and bushings anyways. If the ride is too harsh, I'll bite the bullet and replace the tires. |
