Wax on my convertible top

I need to put the top down a little before waxing my convertible but twice I have waxed with the top up and touched the edge of the top in back with the wax. It leaves a white reside. What is the best way to get this off without harming the top?

Jim I would suggest a good convertible top cleaner like the Raggtopp Convertible Top Cleaner - Fabric and Vinyl Topsor the 303 Convertible Top Cleaner. Spray the affected area with either cleaner and agitate it with a clean cloth and if needed a bristle brush. The quicker you do this and the less the sun bakes in the wax the better off you will be. These products and virtually all products on our site are 20% off through 8/8 with the coupon code Home2010 if interested. If you have any questions please let me know.

Greg,

Thanks, I have some Raggtop cleaner. I used up all the treatment from the can I used less than a month ago when my bimmer turned one. I should probably retreat the area after cleaning, right?

After a good cleaning protecting the top is a big help. Here is what I recommend for Fabric Tops
Protect With:
303 High Tech Fabric Guard
OR
Raggtopp Fabric Protectant

Here is what I recommend for Vinyl Tops

Protect With:
303 Aerospace Protectant
OR
Raggtopp Vinyl Protectant

^ sage advice. I personally like RaggTopp more than 303, but the most important thing is to use SOMETHING.

g/l cleaning your top, and careful next time!

Garage List
Next time use some wide blue painters tape to protect the edge of the roof when polishing.
