The RB turob upgrades are not worth it, I'd only go that path if I could not find some OEM units in good knick.

Fair enough.

When you say noisy are you talking about the "siren" noise that people always talk about?

Just curious.

Turbo noise

Jeff
Sorry mate your turbos are noisy BUT your not the only one, i would say that 50% of all N54 cars that we work on have turbo noise some worse ask Kenny than others. A very good reason to change the oil every 5000km you are all mad if you dont do this.
These tiny tiny turbos spin hard up to 200,000 rpm at full boost. When you fit dumps, filter, exhaust, extra boost, and super hot oil this will happen.
When you do these mods you over speed the turbos they go out of ballance and then they will fail, first you will here the noise with in 20,000km you will see white smoke at idle from the exhaust tail pipes. from there it is all down hill. I think for the N54 the turbo issue will be a big deal soon.
If you can get BMW to repair under warrenty do it but you should put the car back to stock.
Advan will have a twin turbo kit around Jun 2012 that will be a bolt on deal and use all the factory pipe work you can see under the hood, the turbos will be ball bearing and come in three power levels, Sorry they will not make 15psi at 2000rpm if that is what you want stay stock.

Any plans on an upgraded or high flowed turbo for the N55?

Sorry not yet i think the N54 needs them first as they have the issue. I have not seen or driven a noisy N55, but we are looking into the boost drop of and low power issue for the N55

I might have found something to back you up on that...

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=280168

It states with proof from oil analysis from multiple laboratories that the long oil change interval is unhealthy to the engine.

I'm now getting some oil change kits lol.
