BMW Performance Exhaust

Just ordered the BMW Performance Exhaust from a BMW Dealer in the US (not United) and after sending them my VIN# they have found that Aussie delivered cars (Euro) are different to US cars as the exhaust does not fit. Does anyone know of the cause of not fitting, is there a way around this???

Any solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Might be due to different emissions laws in US vs Euro.

Try ordering from the UK, the Dollar is doing amazingly well compared to the Pound.

I use them and they've been pretty good.

What price did you get them for? Are they cheaper than US dealer?

For comparison the US Dealer quoted me $800 plus $75 shipping. So delivered and converted at current rates it's about $950AUS.

I haven't got a Performance Exhaust. I can't really compare US vs UK since they don't have the 130i in the US of A. That said the prices I have been quoted are half of what dealers here quoted me for the bits and pieces I got for my car. They should have exactly same cars we have here, i.e. RHD & Euro spec.

Email Mark asking him for what you want and send him your chassis number, he'll email you price & postage. They are pretty good with replies and have been great to me.

Once more, considering how low the Pound is at the moment because of speculation, it's the best time to buy stuff from the UK.

No problems, glad to help.

Yes Richard, that's really cheap postage since exhaust is quite large. I doubt you'd get postage that cheap from these guys, unfortunately.

That's BS that Aussie cars are different. I bought my BMW PE from Dan@United and had no problems fitting it. The pipes must be cut on any 135i, no matter what country it was made in because the supplied mid pipes replace the resonators.

(There are no mid pipes on the PE exhaust for the 125, so it's an axleback)

The exhaust comes with two long stainless steel exhaust clamps that have a sheet stainless liner to prevent any leaks.

The only reason the exhaust is not sold in Australia is that BMW never got it passed by ADR. After researching when I wanted mine, it would appear that this country is the only country you cannot buy it. I was able to get it from Asia and New Zealand, but in the end, Dan the man was the cheapest. Landed here, I paid approx A$1200.

Richard135... $75 seems way too cheap for shipping. Is it coming by boat?

Ebay purchase from BMW of Bloomfield.

My BMW Performance CF Spoiler is also from them.

My guess they stuffed up the shipping cost and have reneg'd on the sale.

Dan quoted me $275 for shipping.

So you mean they are not selling at that price and with that shipping cost?

$275 is exactly what I paid for freight of the PE from Dan. Dollar is good, so landed cost will be excellent.

Have you looked at the iCarbon products to save some money on the CF spoiler. I got their CF diffuser and IMO looks terrific.

Got a qoute from both the uk dealer and Dan at united is much cheaper at $800usd + $275 for shipping. The uk dealer does have cheaper pricing than oz prices for lighter items though.

BMW135fan, how much did Mark quote? They are a bit pricey in postage, might pay to give a courier company a call on pickup.

just over 1000 pound including postage. Not sure of the postage itself. I still haven't decided if I want to get one, but if I do, will just get it from the states.

That's a lot more. I think he's over quoting, since I don't price check him anymore.

I would do it through Dan too at that price. Hope it works out for you!
