Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position
For all potentially interested in the new Potenza S-04 tire, I'll be reporting in on them within a few weeks. I'm getting them installed today. And, am really happy to finally be moving on from the Hankook V12 set I've had. (I was never a big fan of them.)
FWIW, I went with these because the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport is not currently available in my sizes (245/35/18 & 275/35/18). Also, the price was a bit more competitive in any case. Once I get them broken in fairly well I'll be back with some general thoughts. |

As I now have about 800 miles on my new Potenza S-04 tires, I thought I'd provide a little feedback...
Prior to getting these tires I had Hankook V12s. So, this is the only ground on which to base my comparison. This said, the S-04 is leaps and bounds better. Most importantly, they stick considerably more. It's definitely more difficult to break them loose. They also ride much better. The V12 always seemed a bit "hard." The S-04 has a "softer," more comfortable ride without question. But, this is not by way of sacrificing grip or feel. Grip, feel and ride are all much better. The only thing I haven't tested yet is wet. But, I have a feeling they'll be better in the wet too. I'm very happy to have made this change. Thanks. |
