Oil. Strange...
Driven the car around a little, parked on the slightest of slopes for 10minutes and started the car 'OIL' came on the dash. Checked the Oil, and it was showing MIN.
Drove around a bit, then its half full? wtf? I'm at 12,000kms. Anyone know how much oil they ahve used in that amount? I was trying to avoid it but I might get an interim oil change/filter change..and not by BMW :P |

It is not half full if it shows halfway between MIN and MAX, it is a pint down, nothing to worry about. But at 12,000 Km - nothing wrong with getting an interim change. Either that, or go to your dealer and they can top it up for you.

On the subject of oil...it seems to take my car forever to measure its oil level.
This morning I dialed up the oil level in the iDrive when I started it up at home. Fifteen minutes later when I arrived at work it still was reading a blank. Is this normal? |

Kris..My car was reading the same as yours in that midway area at 10K km's when I had the oil/filter changed..The tech told me it was fine but I changed it regardless..
Lavaletta...Your car has to be sitting at idle (stationery) and it takes 3 to 5 minutes to process the oil readind depending how hot/cold the car is. |

Personally my oil change schedule is:
1,000km then every 6-7,000 km after. Personally I feel BMW recommended service intervals are WAY too long for a turbo charged car. I intend to keep my car for 5 years though. If its a lease or u plan to sell before warranty ends, doing 15,000km changes is fine. |
