Help getting to an 11.9 quarter mile
I'd like to get my car to run an 11.9 or faster quarter mile. I can consistently run mid 12s with a best time of 12.39@116. I'm fairly sure I can get a 10th out of my 60 foot(Car is difficult to launch without spinning) so that leaves 3/10ths to go. I'm new to forced induction so dumb it down a bit for me. Before this I was racing a C4 Corvette with Nitrous so it wasn't all that complicated.
Car is a 2008 135i Auto with 83000km with the following mods: Wavetrac LSD KW v3 Coilovers Advan AD08r tires BMS Meth injection Cobb catted downpipes AMS FMIC JB4 BMS DCI Chargepipe with TIAL BOV NGK 95770 Iridium plugs gapped to .022 Details on 12.39@116 (Log is attached): Run was at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga. 21 degrees Celsius 94 octane pump gas Tires at 35psi. (I changed this to 25psi later in the day and just helped me run consistent mid 12s) 50/50 Water/Meth mix JB4 Map 3 1st gear boost limit = 10 psi Meth Boost Additive = 45 Meth Flow Scaling = 60 Start Meth Flow At = 11psi I had a friend pick up 25 liters of e85 from the states recently but I haven't had a chance to get back to the track. I'm thinking a 30% mix with 94 octane pump gas. I also haven't tried launching in 2nd. Not sure why it never occurred to me. |

Got to the track today and ran a 12.09@118. Used a 30% e85 mix with 94 octane pump gas. Launched in 2nd and shifted at about 6000rpm manually instead of leaving it in DS. I also changed the meth additive setting to 65 from 50 on the JB4.
This was with a worse 60' than my last best 12.39. Any assistance anyone can provide to get into the 11s would be appreciated. The 12.09 was the first pass and I wasn't able to duplicate it. Next best was a 12.23@118. |

Get MK7 Golf R, tune it for $800(APR with their intake) and you have your 11.9 number. I am serious.
I am actually trading my modded 135i for this car. Will be selling my aftermarket parts that i spent thousand of $$$ for very soon. This car is a much better daily driver and kills our cars on a road course with just good coilovers and c.plates. |
