White Halos Upgrade Suggestions

There are a lot of brands out there, but I'm wondering what people might recommend. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money, but would love to upgrade the halos to a crisp, bright white light... preferably visible from the side of the car as well as the front.

What would you guys recommend? I remember seeing a topic recently on such an upgrade but have since been unable to find it.

If you are looking for a white light, I would go with the ICE units. We have a set on Jon's E92 335 and it does a good job of changing the light. They will not be as bright as stock as they are LED based but they do a solid job of changing the color. The brightest option would be a set of HIDs but a quality set of bulbs/ballasts/igniters will run about $250-300 depending on the kit.

Whatever you do stay away from EFX. Just do a search and you will find out why.

What about the hyper white kit? I know you get what you pay for but I'm not sure I want to spend more than $50 to change the color of lights on my car, haha.

if you don't want to spend more than $50 to change the color of your angle eyes then go with GP Thunders around $30

If you do not want to spend $50 you are not going to get LEDs. Stick with the above mentioned bulbs. I have GP Thunders in my car currently.

At $50, you will get a hyperwhite halogen bulb. They are as bright as OEM and do a good job but are not going to be a 100% xenon white.

Ive got the Mtec cosmo blue...first had the EFX (codes, horrid seller, no thx). If u want to see pics, check out the Eyelids thread a few threads down..u can see my mtecs on there. I love em, but they do lose brightness when the xenons come on. Otherwise, great price and great product.

RD is a good choice, the only issue is that they are rather dim during the day.

king those look good... as "cosmo blue" they don't look blue at all. Are they meant to be? Do they offer white ones?

GP Thunder vs Mtec... anyone have a suggestion based on pros and cons for each?

I bought GPs 7500k a while ago and then read and saw good things about MTECs, so I bought a pair of those as well. Put one of each in to compare and they ended up looking the EXACT same to me. Some people have favorite but I believe they're the exact same. There's pictures here from the thread I started to sell the MTECs:

So they're pretty straight forward to install then? I was hoping to put these in and possibly some of those "clear" turn signal bulbs up front.

generally speaking mtec bulbs are little bit brighter than gp thunder bulbs, also, as a general rule, usually the lower in kelvin you go, the brighter the output.

e90 andy / I have developed a plug and play HID kit for e92's / e82's, no wiring harness, just a ballast that connects directly to stock h8 connectors
The kit is currently under beta testing, but we offer several colors for angel eyes ranging from 3000k to 10000K. It' may even be cheaper than some of the solutions out for 1ers now. You'll be hearing about this kit as soon as beta testing is complete. Thanks.
