Bill C-568

I hope this is not a repost.

Bill C-568 Bottom line... limiter set to a maximum speed that is not greater than 150 kilometres per hour.

This was posted over the M3POST. More BS for Canada?

booo. i wonder what the "exceptions" will be other than emergency vehicles of course. There will obviously be alot of track people upset about this and that will be a big issue to deal with if this bill goes any further.

God I hope that never comes here. Our motorways usually flow at about 150kph. And in Germany a lot faster obviously...

150 is ok for around town, but not for cruising on the highway.

Yes very true. What about cars manfactured b4 2010? I don't know. It's not really clear. I hope it's for cars after 2010.

Well that friggen figures... god damned... left-wing, anti-business, anti-choice liberals...

As much as I think Stephen Harper is a stiff, lame, boring (insert insert), nob. The guy has done a masterful job with the crap that he inherited....

Wow!! Is all I can say since I don't want to get political.

If this ever does get passed (I sure hope it doesn't, not becuase I endorse speeding, but something to do with not have the government controll my actions... sorry I'm not keeping true to my words about getting political), I am sure anyone who cares will be able to find a way to get around the limiter. What will be the punishment be then?? Will they confiscate your car? Wait apperently that is already the law.

What a stupid idea. How about increasing the punishment for street racing... actully do something that will have an effect. Going 150km/h in a 50 zone will kill more people than passing a car going 95km/h in a 110km/h zone (even if you do go faster than 150km/h to make that pass) Would it be better to have the limiter kick in while making that pass while a truck is comming towards you!?!

Hmmm... guess I feel more stongly about this than just 'wow'.

Type anything into Google & you'll get a whole bunch of stuff.

Eg:

Results 1 - 10 of about 2,090 for vfx land nanny state. (0.18 seconds)

Not wanting to hijack this thread but I do believe there is more general freedom in the UK than in Canada.

If you want 'for instance...' then you can pm me.

that is such a stupid proposal. he is just trying to appeal to the housewives...

how about FOLLOWING TOO CLOSE? Maybe because I live in alberta, but more people get killed for following bumper-to-bumper at anything over 40 or 50km/h than anybody going nuts solo over 150 on the highway...

F=ma darn it... stay the hell away from my rear bumper...

They do like their rules over here ... I can imagine BC enforcing it even if the rest of the country doesn't ... and I can imagine AB not enforcing it even if the rest of the country does !!
