thanks for that article; it was very interesting considering that my wife is asking me to consider trading in her r32 for a 120d or 130i now. i'll be properly sad if that happens as much as i think that even my 120i handles better than her r32 on the twisties.

see i really like the r32 and it does sound very good, but the problem for me is that you can really feel the heft of the car in the front, which makes cornering less fun, and the dsg is notchy while downshifting (you have to gently squeeze the brakes on just before downshifting to prevent it from jarring too much). if you leave the transmission to select gear for you then in sport mode the gearbox is far too aggressive to be pleasant for more than short blasts and in drive mode it becomes a bit too lazy.

Hey I saw my car! Ok it wasn't my car, it was one that looks like mine but with sunroof. Looks stunning in white! This is the first time I have seen white in person on a 135i coupe. Can't wait to pick up mine. Dealer say the car will be available for pick up by Friday if I want it, but I am busy so probably pick it up on Monday.

Have to disagree sorry. My mate's R32 sounds better than my 135. It's just louder, meatier, more aggressive. I am sure a muffler mod on the 135 would change things though. The BM's sound is just more refined.

I liked the MkIV r32 sound, especially with a supersprint exhaust on it. A MkV GTI with an AWE exhaust sounds just as good. (Just don't take the resonator off, as you'll go deaf)

Don't like the MkV r32 sound (too metallic) It's fine while idling, but when you open up the throttle, it sounds a bit like metal on metal.

I like the 135 sound. It sounds strong but yet as something suppressed within it. I like the growl on it. It's sonorous and yet not intrusively so.

I was just going to ask Dodgy if his mate's car is a MkIV or MkV. Big difference in sound. Your friend isn't a plastic surgeon is he? :P

Wayne, did you take any photos of the white 135? Even the wash boys were saying they couldn't believe how good the car looks in white.

Not wrong Prateek! Although I am now thinking of scaling it down a bit...Active Autowerks chip first, then suspension after a couple of months, wheels once I work out what is best, then the rest I will slowly see what works for people and what doesn't. But we will see what Andrew@Southern BM can bring me and I will consider them.

Kris and Way. I saw a picture of a carbon fiber sheet stuck on the roof of an AW 135 in the photos forum. My knees gave way and I skipped a heartbeat - it looked THAT good! It looked so much like a little M3. Just thought I'd sow a seed in your brains.

Lol Kris. You need to post a few more photos of you in front of a convertible M3 posing before you qualify.

Prateek, seen anyone selling CF bonnet yet? I can't decide if it will save me enough weight to justify it...
