I saw him at Canterbury looking at the 135 and I thought it was Kris picking up his car... until he made the 1.3L comment.

Anyway, currently at London Heathrow waiting 8 hours to connect to Budapest. Hope you are having fun back home. The Euro plates are now installed replacing the standard white ones.

Garage List
2011 BMW X1 23d  [7.66]
The thing that makes the 1.3L comment particularly amusing for me is that this guy knows even less than nothing. If anything, he should have said that it was a 3.5L rather than a 1.3L. The first number is model designation, the next two the engine size traditionally. What a turkey....

We picked up our car today to also have incorrect trim.
We were looking for piano black but instead ended up with that plastic looking snake skim trim. Grr. They'll swap it out for us when we next get a chance to drive to the dealer.

Bubble boy strikes again.

Taiheung, I am getting used to/ liking this trim. I originally chose the brushed aluminium thinking the bubble look was more plastic than metal. Getting other peoples' opinions and they don't mind the bubble boy much either. It is more sporty and less likely to get scratched.

Congrats on the buy anyway.
Which dealer?

I agree - you spend $87K and there are like 5 choices to make and 2 of mine were wrong (trim and plates).

That's it!

Really it is the dealers fault for not having his product knowledge 100%..
The factory is only following its criteria.

Well unless my dealer is being a prick and lying.

He's been quite honest and straight forward, will try and sort this out as my car is entering build soon.

I certainly hope the brushed aluminium choice is not cancelled either - of all the trims choices, it's my favourite and definitely what I'd want to have...damn if I'm going to be waiting for almost a year to get a car, i'd better have all my fav. choices of finishes or what's the point, I'd be pissed and choose another car !

I'm going to test drive a 135i soon and I'll be asking these and many other questions at 2 different BMW dealers here in Melb.

I'll let you all know what the responses are

Hi Prateek..There was never an issue with the dealer swapping the trim..
he gave the option to keep or replace to Black trim in three weeks..
Then i suggested that they price me me up the carbon Fibre trim as a exchange over price..
My SA who is the dealer principle is on holidays till next monday..
Just waiting till he gets back then i will HAMMER him..lol..lol

Has anyone here actually got brushed aluminium on their car? That trim is one of my fav things about the interior design of the car. I wouldnt be happy if I didnt get it that is for certain.
