Good for you Kris:biggrin: Cant wait to get your full review, then maybe add an intake?? aFE maybe? You'll need more than the contis to hold that power down.

Who knows! I think is enough power for now lol, it's just insane! I'd have to see dyno graphs on the aFE but I think exhaust is a next good start
Here is a photo in the facility before the hubs got mounted up. The car dyno'd with 2600kms on the clock at exact 200.9 RWKW STOCK. Tunehouse commented thats massive power for a stock car, very healthy numbers! These are DIN measured numbers also (the US use SAE) |

Thats a smart looking shop. Looks like an operating theatre. 200kw eh, just shows you how well these engines come on after the have loosened up.

Read more about it here.. They had Energy Australia install new power cabling in the street and what not because the drain of the fan is too much on the substation LOL, they start the fan up at low speed to minimise drain
http://tunehouse.com.au/dyno_cell.html Yep, 200 RWKW stock. Apparently STi's do about 150rwkw on all four wheels. Jim was saying the dyno is so accurate he can measure power differences by turning on headlights/tail lights in the car |

Numbers look good. So about 40kw just with the chip. Nice. Why did you end up getting a shop to do the install for you? I thought the idea of the PnP is so that you can do it yourself? Some drive impression too when you have a min. Things like where does the power taper off etc is of particular interest to me.

Wayne, its well over 40kw I havent given the figures yet cause im waiting on the charts to be mailed through....
Cause the shop are near me and they have the gear to test the car 100%. I drove the car after. Power tapers off according to the charts around 5800rpm. The car is extremely fast. You can feel it breaking traffic in 2nd gear when you WOT it WITH traction control on. Joe will drive the car tomorrow, ill let him post an impression too |

kris, that picture looks very nice. i am impressed above all else by the scientific approach you have taken in doing this.
oh, and hopefully you are not "breaking traffic in 2nd gear" but rather "breaking traction". although, it must be said, breaking traffic would be much more fun!! |

can't wait to see the graph. Interested to see how the power curve looks post max power. 14.5 is too much for my own comfort on normal fuel, but I'm happy to go with a much higher boost with race fuel. But there is no doubt that this tune is very safe for normal use but not sure about high stress track and race use. No one knows the long term impact at the moment but I dare say that given BMW has set the trigger point at about 15psi, it would be ok. Please share more on the driving impressions.

Hi guys..
Just took Kris's car for a spin (literally). My god...what an amazing transformation the JB3 has made to the all round performance and driveability. If you thought the 135i was a drivers car in the stock form, then you will be more than pleasantly surprised after this mod. At low revs it is almost as no mod has been performed, just a smoother ride. The car is by far smoother in low revs and redlines that quick that you would have a hard time controlling the wheel spin in a straight line through the low gears. Wide open throttle through first and second, the car will just break traction that fast that it is breathtaking. And I am not talking about dumping the clutch, just hard acceleration. It is easily over 50KW at TRW increase. 0 to 100 times wouldnt surprise me if they came in well around low to mid 4 seconds. |

wow sounds amazing. A recommended mod? be interesting to see how the temp goes especially come summer. Any variations at the moment? did you get the switch for it, valet etc? does all other electrical items in the car work ok still?

Definatelly worth a carton of Haan and consideration if you are in the market for a chip...
From the time it was installed and the ignition kicked, NO fault codes thrown and temp hasnt increased at all , although it was only 18 Deg in Sydney town today.. |

Howdy all,
Yep, Joe and I hung out for a while with the car (although, I couldn't pursude him to help with the shovel digging this epic trench for some drainage). The car has thrown no codes and the temp gauge hasn't done anything it does. Mine usually sits around 90 degrees. The car is really like stock when your just putting around, but give it about half throttle and the car literally catapults you into the seat and shoots very quickly into the red section of the RPM The car will break traction pretty easily... I think Joe was a little easy on the car in his test drive The car does NOT ping at all. TuneHouse tested this extensively in their acoustic dyno room (its a vaccum so they can hear pinging clearly) and UNLIKE Proceed (Vishnu) the JB3 does NOT ping using BP 98 Ultimate. All JB3's come fully loaded, Stock, Valet, High & Low Boost. I should be testing the usage of the switch mechanism shortly with Terry as soon as he releases. The switch can change maps on the fly. All features of the car work 100% Professor, it's the only way to fully test modifications. I'll adapt the ECU over the coming weeks and run the car through the dyno again. 110% Recommended mod. Like I said before, TuneHouse a company with extensive tuning experience (and running a 1200HP @ The Wheels XR6) and having worked on the 335i quite a bit said the drivability and results from the extensive testing on the DynaPack is extremely positive. Ill post graphs when I get all the information through. I need to take the car for a nice drive tomorrow and really stretch its legs. |

Are you going to dyno the low boost setting as well? Interested to see that as well. For those considering chipping, yes, it's worth doing it as long as you don't mind losing traction in second gear as Kris and Joe has said. As for your temperature, you obviously don't drive your car hard at all if it sits at 90 degrees all the time. Even with the cold Melb temp, mine usually sit around 110 before and after chipping!
