Worth the wait, wasn't it?

I'll be looking out for TAKA 1 around Heidelberg and the Eastern Fwy.

My TAKA-1 is CHINESE!!!

configure the audio to Japanese and it is showing all the song title on USB in Chinese! Awesome

***Song selecting***

Now the song showed up in Chinese! … It says “No worries” (so does it make it Aussie-Chinese??)

*** The English is now more spaced out and the English song title is now limited ***

off topic taka but I went to watch Angels & Demons yesterday and in the movie there was a scene where they showed name tags and one was TAKAHASHI and immediately thought of you

Thanks mate... hehe. It is rather a common name in Japan.

Taka = tall. I have stuck with it since the day I started learning Japanese. My Jap is still not very good .

I recent dynoed the car. Part of fun and it is only $40 why not. Not pulling as well as I thought but a 02 M3 SMG only pulling 187.2kW at the same dyno.

http://taka-135.blogspot.com/2009/06...have-done.html

Yes I have not done an oil change yet. Now around 1700km on the clock. Booked in for next Tuesday oil change . Andrew said 5W30 will do me.

Blog entry: A day with one-three-FIVE!

I went to spend a day with my car… well I just went to do a few things. I went to Andrew @ SouthernBM to have an oil change. 1 hour and $189 dollars later it is time to move on with my day. He did the job professionally and so fast that it is just out of the world. He does not care about the 110 degree oil! Thanks Andrew! Worth the hour of traffic to get to Moorabbin.

What I found after the oil change are 2 things:
Firstly the car feels looser. The new oil free up the engine nicely and it even makes the turbo kick @ 3000rpm stronger.
Secondly the fuel economy is way better. When I drove on the way to SouthernBM… the fuel gauge said 15.0L/100km for about 150km. I drove about another 1/4 tank today and finish with 13.9L/100km. What an improvement!

After that I went to did some 0-100kmh on 100kmh zone.
The first run I did with traction control on…
The 2nd run I had left foot on the brake and mess up the run
The 3rd run I had left foot brake and with traction control. I had to correct the steering a bit on the run
The 4th run is the easiest. DTC off. Just launch from idling and floor it. I don’t even change – the car changes itself hehe..

(graph: Green – speed; Yellow – Altitude)

After some run I went to clean the car and polish it. I brought some new microfiber cloth to fit the 10” orbiter. I am tight ass so I just use the Autoglym ultra deep shine after I clay bar the car for the dirt build up only after a month (A hand test on the clean surface can usually tell – no dirt build up is silky smooth... watch video).

Here are some finishing shots!

We have around the same number of kms on the car now. Maybe it is time for an oil change.

After looking at your photos, I'm thinking I need to get one of those orbitals, especially for BSM and the fact that the 1er is swirl city after the hand wash at Shoppo. Where did you get yours Taka?

Thanks.. The photo is untouched and unphotoshopped - I just load it to the photobucket directly from the card.

You can get a good one at Supercheap Auto or Autobarn for around $40. I had mine for years now and still going. You may want to choose something smaller for the 1er. 10" is a bit big for the 1er. But it can do the bonnet in no time LOL

I just brought a pack of microfibre, wool and disposible applicator pack for 10" orbitar.
I am not that pro... so I just use clay, then see if there is swirl and use scratch X... if this does not work I have paint renovator from Autoglym.. then use some good wax to apply, microfibre to buff off.

I am open to alternative. I am not very good with the waxing stuff to most of you here.

Aus135i and SparkingRed,

RE: Chinese.

Now I am not sure how business nav works. But I have only have a Garmin BMW nav and standard audio. And I don't use iPod but I have a USB flash drive to the car. So it may not be the same as yours.

Sorry about the crappy mobile phone pics.
I first press the Menu button on the right.

On that mode you can see config menu.

Choose Lang for Language.

Find Japanese with the right dial

Then you are set!

Ain't I glad that I did not spend $5000 to lose the Japanese function ....

I am not sure it is pure luck or what. I am so close to tick the sat nav box until the dealer said I can have a BMW Garmin for free.

$40 isn't too much damage at all. Thanks I'll probably pick one up soon.

Trust me I'm an amateur when it comes to this stuff. I'll be practicing on my wife's car first

I've had a Mothers Wax Attack Palm Polisher for a long time now and I think it's great. Not as big as the one Taka has and I've already used it on the 135i. It's a good size.

I got ours from Supercheap.

You can see the details and watch it in action here...

Thanks for that, I checked out the local Supercheap and they are out of stock. Looks like a good size though and easy to use, so I'll wait till they have them in store again.

Cool, I imagine you'll be going to the one in Preston. Ringwood are out of stock.

I use the Mothers as well... it's pretty good. Just make sure your tooth fillings (and or dentures) are secured before you start.

Seriously, the vibration actually undid its own moving base which I had to 'repair'. Some of the plastic supports disintegrated though there were enough other ones for it still to function...

EDIT: Oh just saw your message... Yep I went to Preston last night... but I only found those: It says rockwell do it well...

Both orbitor is still pretty big. I think the $80 one has better grip and sort of 8". I also found one that is like my 10" orbitor $40.

Can't find details on their website? Are they copies??? haha.
