Windshield washer fluid problems?

So I recently had to replace my windshield washer fluid and I replaced it with a brand I can't quite recall, but it had a bug remover and a 0 degree rating. The actual liquid was a pink or "Salmon" color. I'm thinking this is just great and I go to spray my windshield and it does beautifully but......now I have pink water marks on my perfect Alpine White paint all around the nozzles and the front of the hood from the headlight washers.

1. What washing fluid should I use?

2. Is there a specific color I should buy?

3. How do I get this horrific pink colored mess out of my windshield washer tank?

Regarding #3, I'd try to siphon out as much of the pink stuff as possible, then flush the system with distilled water...

I only use the OE fluid. Cheap, works and does not have much dye in it.

There are also numerous reports of clogging the filter in the reservoir when using other fluids.

Wish we could get the real German OE fluid. Completely clear, and from the smell, was pure alcohol.

LOL, just pour that in the meth tank....

I use something similar to what you described but it's some Rain-X brand name fluid. I've had no staining issues. http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/ra...-0294161p.html

How often do you wax/seal? I would give a clay bar a try first to remove any staining on the paint. Unless it's bonded to the paint that should remove it I would imagine.

As for removing it from the tank you could use a fluid extractor, or if you are handy, pull the wheel well/wheel and disconnect the hose at the bottom of the reservoir. Just drain all the crap out and flush it with water/alcohol.

bmw fluid. just pull the reservoir or pull back the inner fender and take out the pump and grommet then flush it with water from the filler neck.
