tire pressure
i have 3000 miles on my 135i vert now had it 3 months. just checked the tire pressures and the fronts were 25 psi and the rear 35 psi filled them up to 39 for the front and 41 for the rear now why wouldnt a message come up saying the pressures were low. I have a nissan mirano and it tells you when tires are 5 psi low any one know? plus they must not have had the correct pressure when i picked it up thats a lot of pressure loss if they were

The dealership probably reset the TPMS system while the tires were low, and that's why it didn't warn you. I'd go out an reset it with the proper tire pressures, then lower one of them back down to 25PSI and make sure it's working properly. You might need to drive around for a little while before it actually goes off after you drop the pressure.

You should check the tire pressure at least every other week. I noticed that RFTs tend to bleed air. While TPMS doesnt sound the alarm, lower pressure will increase your gas consumption and make the car handle differently. I figure the tires are the only thing that keep me on the road, so I check the pressure often, when tires are cold. I run 38psi up front and 42 in the back, as per manual. You never know when you gonna run over 100 mph

Somethings not right...your tires should not be losing that much air. But when you add air, refer to the label in the drivers door jam. 41psi sounds extremely high. My 128 coupe calls for 32psi in the front and 35psi in the rear. After filling the tires to these values, drive around the block to reset the tire pressure monitoring system.
But on a side note, I've had my coupe for over a year and my tires have lose about 3psi every 5-6 months. |

they have different wheel size on the 135i in comparison to the 128i. So tire pressure might be different. I almost go to the dealer at least once every 2 months to get air in the tires. Is it RFT that leaks so much or is it just how it is normally? The dealer told me that im suppose to check my tires every 2 weeks and that i should refill air at least once a month. That was at New century BMW.

I checked my pressures all around on my 135i the morning after I got it home last month.. RF and RR were both 30 psi, LF and LR were both 35. The computer had told me all was well.. word to the wise, check early and often, given the cost to replace the RFTs it's worth taking 2 minutes every now and again.. just my $0.02.
