bolt pattern? pls help
Hello, fellow Canadians! I have noticed that a number of 1series owners have either had or still have a mazda mx-5. This was my previous car and was wondering if the bolt pattern is the same for these 2 rwd cars. I have a set of 16" winter tires on steel wheels and want to know if they are compatible. These tires were only used for one winter. BTW, the MX-5 was absolutely amazing in the snow! Granted, I live in windsor,ON., so not exactly the harshest winters.

Ok, I was just on tirerack and noticed that the 2008 MX-5's bolt pattern is 5-114. Is this still not going to work? If not...DAMMIT!!
Other question is how are the standard RFT's in the snow? I don't have the sport package.... |

I got Dunlop 3D's on mine and the thing runs like a champ in anything short of my intake shoveling snow.

Nope...NC MX-5 is 5 x 4.5" / 114.3mm, whereas your BMW is 5 x 120mm.
The standard BMW tires are hideous in the snow. We took delivery of our car in December and I had a very white-knuckle drive home for 12km with it...they must be taken off if you're going to drive in winter.
