just saw the 135i in person!

Hey guys i just got back from Ridgefield BMW (Connecticut) and they had a black/red 135i and a sedona red 128i (didn't even look at the 128i twice, sorry!) All I have to say is that all doubt about the vehicle's looks went away the second I saw it in person. This was a great opportunity for me because the 135i was ALMOST configured the exact way I want mine. All they had to do was change the auto to a 6 spd. and delete the premium package. I love the black on coral red leather, and the sport package is a must (love the seats/shifter/steering wheel/shadowline trim). I am in the process of selling my S2000 so as soon as that is sold, I will be going back to place my order:

Jet Black 135i
Red Coral Boston Leather
6 speed
Sport Package
Aluminum Trim
Heated Seats

anyway, here are the pictures of the 135i demo at Ridgefield BMW - it was raining so it could've been better conditions, but i'm still really glad I saw it in real life.

Enjoy,

-Chris

Quite the pastoral setting for your dealer.

I just sat in it, and it is tight. I'm 6.5" and I fit, but it is tighter than I hoped for...

Going back to drive it later this afternoon to see how it feels driving it around in town for awhile.

What you can't see are the numerous dump trucks hauling dirt from the widening of Route 7, a fact made necessary by the bumper-to-bumper traffic along a major commuting corridor that is not served by a divided highway.

no i didn't want to waste the dealer's time since I am unable to purchase right now anyway (until the S2000 is sold). Believe me, the SECOND my S is sold, I'll be back. I've already decided this is the car for me; so unless something goes TERRIBLY wrong on the test drive, this will be my next car.

yeh ever since my brother purchased his black 03 330ci (new then), i've always wanted a black bimmer. now that BMW is finally producing a turbocharged motor in a mid 30k car, i can pull the trigger.

Yes, it does look better in person

EXTERIOR:
Just left my Local dealer in the Albany NY area, and took almost the identical pics. Confirming what others have said,..the car really does look better in person. Your pics are better so I wont bother posting mine.
TRANNY:
Why oh why would BMW NA spec an auto tranny for a demo car like the 135i? Its a sports car, not a grocery getter. Now i'll have to wait till after the "launch" to test drive a stick.

Because - unfortunately - not enough people drive sticks to allow for a manual demo. Sad but true.

its true; more bmw drivers drive auto, so its a given. however, my concerns were with the exterior, not the tranny or motor so i'm decided.
