Michelin Pilot Sport ZP tire experience

Has anyone on the forum tried the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP tires on their 1er ?
They come in the 225/255 18" sizing which seems to be the most popular option for upsizing from the OEM 215/245s on our cars.
I am wondering how the Michelins ZP runflats would compare to the Bridgestone RE050 RFTs that I currently have on my car.

I am definitely going to ditch the Bridgestones mainly because of the poor ride quality, but would like to consider all the possible options before I make the switch.

Thanks in advance for any insights from folks who have tried the Michelin ZPs

I asked this exact same question a few weeks ago and nobody, including people from Tire Rack, has responded.

You won't get any love for run craps around here. The best thing you can do is buy a set of Michelin PSSs - best possible street tire there is for this car. If you're worried about flats get a donut for the trunk. I've had one for 3 years now and only just used it last week for the first time. Worked fine and saved me a lot of time and money.

The only possible reason for keeping Run Flats would be for a lease turn in. But most people who lease thier car - replace their run flats (way)before they are bald. Keep the old tires for lease turn-in. I'd say most people just run normal tires instead of RFT's.

And... it doesn't matter if you have RFT or normal tires... they will only last about 20K miles on the rear. Some people here have only gotten 10K miles. The fronts normally last around 25K miles.

I have the Michelins on my 335; they are vastly superior to the Bridgestones in ride comfort and wet weather handling. Dry Performance/handling I would (somewhat reluctantly, due to it being an overall terrible tire) say the Bridgestone is a tad better.

I just put the Pirelli PZero rfts on my wife's 1er. They are par with the Michelins in dry performance and comfort so far and are available in the original oem sizes for the 1er. Once we get a good rain, I'll report on wet weather handling in my post.

Okay, I know that runflats get no love around here. I know they suck. I do have my reasons for not wanting to switch to normal tires.

It seems like the Michelins do not come in a 1 series fitment and if they did they are not that much better.

Seems like the Pirellis do come in a 1 series fitment but are no better either.

Looks like I will pay 1200 for shitty Bridgestone runflats again.

Pirellis are far and away MUCH better overall than the Bridgestones. Trust me, I've had two 335s, 3 sets of Bridgestones, 1 set of Michelins, and now one set of Pirellis on a 1er. So far, the Pirellis are as good as the Michelins.
