iPhone 5

Hi everyone , I have got my new iPhone 5 and already having problems with the ios6. My 1M will not stream the music via Bluetooth. It worked perfectly before the iOS 6 upgrade. I contacted apple and they said I should take my car to the dealer because it may not be compatible with the new upgrade.
Not really happy about it but I'm sure in the 75 page disclosure I said it would be ok to screw up my music .
Funny thing I can make a call with my Bluetooth but as soon as the call connects my music starts streaming over the person I'm talking with!

Sounds a bit weird, all of the iPhone 5 bluetooth functions work fine with my 1M. Actually nice to have bluetooth audio streaming as it didn't work with my iPhone 3GS.

No issues at all for me. I've had the 5 since 9/21 and it works perfectly with the 1M

Make sure you have the latest software flash for the car. It will also show you messages (if you have Nav and iDrive.

Silly question, but does the cradle for the 4/4S work with the i5? If I had to wager, I'd say not

It's working fine for me. Make sure bluetooth audio check box (in the option menu of the phone within iDrive) is ticked.

Also, make sure that iDrive software is up-to-date.

It is also a good idea to delete the phone from the paired devices iDrive menu; reset the phone, then repair the phone.

Thanks for the help guys! I will check for updates and its good to know some are working fine. Oddly enough my friend has a 1M and his did not work also, must be a Ky. thing

You might need to download the Bluetooth firmware update from BMW. I believe one of the "Bluetooth options" menus on the iDrive displays the URL.

When BMW releases Android integration for their cars, then lets talk. Until then, Android's for folks who couldn't afford a proper Apple device

Just go to settings within iDrive and select software update via teleservices.

different connector, different size, and probably will not be out for a very long time. didn't it take BMW a while and two iterations to "properly" equip a cradle for the 4/4S?

Yeah, I think you're right. I'll prolly upgrade my 4 to a 4S (will be close to nothing shortly), as I really don't want to spend another $300 on a cradle (and likely wait a yr for such 'privilege'). I use Web Radio a lot from BMW Apps, so have been pretty happy just popping the phone in the cradle and forgettingabouitit

oh, btw...forgot to mention: Mine is working fine. I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 6 (obviously) and I can seamlessly play spotify over bluetooth. No issues whatsoever.

My Bluetooth works okay. You sometimes need to just disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth. No need to repair. If it doesn't work try a soft restart and the a hard restart if it doesn't work. I have problem with the new connector though might try to upgrade the firmware tomorrow.
