Question for DTEC/LUX owners
Hi guys
Looking for some help here.. I'm debating doing the OSS mod but having some reservations about opening the headlights and the seal only being guaranteed from them for 1 year. I already know going into the idea of possibly doing LUX v4 or DTEC that the lights do NOT match the LCI 3 series coupe lights or the newer ones.. but the question is this: I had an e90 and bought LUX v3, it is expected at this point for the outer light to be DIMMER but what I found in looking at it and people who saw the car was that the outer lights were actually a different color, or appeared to be. Pic to illustrate here: View post on imgur.com The question for you guys who have DTEC and LUX in 1 series is, do the inner/outer rings MATCH in color? As you can see from this pic, the outer ring looks almost yellow with the inner right looking white.. I may just go LUX or DTEC if you guys can confirm that the 2 AE tubes are at least the same color Thx in advance! |

The drop in intensity looks like a slightly different color sometimes, but the reality is that's just the outer ring being a dimmer version of the same light.

Any plug and play solution no matter how much it costs will get you a dimmer outer circle.
There is no fix for it. They will look different color but in reality they are just dimmer.

I got it. Sigh, what a frustrating thing. If you go LUX/DTEC/any other vendor out there you run the risk of adaptive headlight failure-- if you go OSS its 3x the cost and you void your warranty, sheesh.

not really frustrating if you buy correctly the first time, which should be the only one time correct?? if you want AHL headlight failure which is about $1500, then sure, buy the unknown brands, as our DTECS clearly dont have this issue, we upgraded our wiring to 32AWG wiring and also elongated our wires by 2 inches, so our driver modules can be install anywhere, even outside the headlight housing, but at least we tried to warn all members in advance, for FREE headlight failures, there are many unknown brands that will cause AHL failure, please PM us for the list of unknown brands, our DTECS clearly dont have this issue and not even one report from our DTEC brand.

AHL failure, the best and and easiest method to spend over $1500 is to just buy the unknown brands which will equate to complete fail in a matter a time....
