What are you hoping to accomplish with the BOV? I understand AA may be one of the sponsors so you get all manner of stuff for free, but browsing the E9x forums I didn't get any definitive impression that it helps.

Please understand, I'm not critiquing - far from it, this is one of the most satisfying and exciting developments so far - I'm merely curious...

My very limited experience and understanding with turbos is that BOV's are used to prevent compressor surge. A phenomenon that happens when lifting off the gas. High pressure air in the intake is forced back in to the turbo which hurts performance of or could even stall the car. I have no idea why a BOV would not benefit the One.

This is a question that is certainly best answered by the guys at AAW.

Beautiful project must I say.

Any weight reduction plans?
And what set of rotors and calipers did you use to reduce weight so much?
Will you dyno the beast when it's done?

Weight reduction will be the brakes, wheels/tires, enormous battery, some exhaust, and we will probably put a race shell in place of the driver's seat and prep the other seats to pull per track event. Not going too wild - still want it to be a nice street car.

The car is super zippy now! We will be putting a heavier spring on the JRZ suspension going in to handle the heft and the brakes will have no issues.

Calipers and rotors are tentatively a Performance Friction ZR-28 kit with a 323mm rotor. We will replace with the similar and more reasonably priced Z44 Z-Rated kit when they are available - about $3300 (guess) for a monobloc caliper kit.

Will probably dyno - we are in a bit of a rush at this point though, so that may be a later deal.

James, I'd be VERY interested in the dyno. I assume you are installing the AA Active Processor. I also read on on BF, that you're doing exhaust. What exhaust are you installing. I didn't realize anything was available yet. Between the tune, intake, DPs, FMIC, and exhaust, you'll be putting out a lot of hp & torque... in a car lighter than stock by a hundred lbs or so.

Btw, we LIKE super zippy.

Wow, awesome. This is simply awesome. This is exactly what i hope the 1 would attract, people who are into cars for performance.

My garage princess is sleeping, please don't wake her. Otherwise, I'd have to drive her around the block couple times to put her to bed.

Are you guys running stock size wheels and rubber, or did you go wider? Also, are you guys going to run a lightened flywheel?

Wheels and tires

We are going to definitely run lighter wheels and wider rubber. There has been much discussion among us as to how much will fit. Has anyone tried to fit larger than 235’s on the front of a One?

Flywheel will likely remain stock; we are running short on time....

Yes, here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5667

I think the final setup was with a 3mm spacer up front.

Time permitting we will get it on the dyno and start pulling exhaust pieces to see where the restriction is. It will likely be something we make at this point - probably a straightpipe since noise is not as much of a concern as power and weight for now...

ADC: thanks for the link on wheels and tires.

If anybody has suggestions for go fast parts or mods that we may have missed, we would love to hear about them.
