Another BMW Milestone

Series production started

BMW 1 Series Coupé is exclusively built at Plant Leipzig since 3 September.

Another Milestone was reached on BMW Plant Leipzig's way to a bigger variety in its product range. On 3 September the series production of the BMW 1 Series Coupé was launched. This start of production took place only six months after the launch of the BMW 1 Series three-door model. Now Plant Leipzig manufactures three BMW models (BMW 3 Series Sedan, BMW 1 Series three-door, BMW 1 Series Coupé) - up to 700 cars per day. Its first show-appearance - therefore its world premiere - the BMW 1 Series Coupé will celebrate at the International Automobile Show (IAA) in Frankfurt from 13 to 23 September. On 24 November the start of sale is expected.

* Note: The on sale date of Nov. 24th is for European Market.
