Rust Prevention on Steel Calipers?

I just bought the BMWP Brake Kit for the 128i, and the rears are slightly larger-piston, un-painted steel calipers, was wondering what options people suggest for keeping these clean and rust free?

I've considered g2usa Phoenix Yellow paint, it is high temp rated and matches the color of the fronts, but I'm not entirely sure how I feel about blinging up the rears with colored paint, it's pretty pricey, and it may not arrive in time for me to get the brakes mounted before hitting the track.

Powder coat I've read may not stand up to track temps, but this may not be as much of a concern on the rears.

Was thinking about maybe just some clear coat high temp spray from Advance Auto or something as well; again mostly just want to put a protective coat on them so they don't get all crusty up here in the NE.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I'd paint them with the high heat paint (matching the fronts) and call it a day. Worst case, you can always re-apply should it not hold up. Either way, it'll look better than the raw steel.

Ended up just rattle-canning them with silver VHT from Autozone, rated to 950deg. Three coats, then baked them in a toaster oven at 250 for an hour to cure. Looks good to me, not blingy and won't rust for the time being. Meet the new calipers, same as the old calipers:

How did this hold up after tracking the car? Did the paint peel or get discolored?

Good username btw!

Paint held up quite well through the track days and made it a lot easier to clean them when swapping pads. No peeling or terribly noticeable discoloration. Quite satisfied with the decision.

Good username yourself! Haha
