Very interesing. I have the same issue. usually when I go over a bump or pothole. At first, I thought a rock came off the tire and hit the the bottom of the car, but it has happened way too many times now. The stressed windshield makes sense now.

I have a loud POP noise from my drivers side door, towards the windshield. It happens whenever I go over a bump the first time I drive the car after having been off overnight or for a long period of time. The first time I thought a rock or something hit my car. I haven't mentioned it to service because I have no confidence they will do anything other than look at me funny, but maybe I will now. It almost sounds like the window isn't seated correctly and when I hit a bump it snaps into place or something.

I had some wind noise which was cured, and a little rattle from the sunroof. On the whole nothing major, bust seeing as my last car was a SAAB and before that an old GMC truck my acceptance of rattles might be higher than most on here.

Sometimes, I read these threads and posts and wonder if my car was even made in the same factory as other 135is. It has been the quietest car I have owned, with the exception of a '76 Jaguar XJ6C. Now with Michelin PS2 non RFTs, it is smooth and silent.

Creaking from the LHS (it's a RHD spec) when traversing speed bumps, dips (such as a driveway) or rough road surfaces - somewhere between the rear suspension to the B pillar. Lately I've been driving craning my neck towards the other side of the car to get a grip on where it's eminating from which has been a useless exercise! All is quite a shame as I've only had the car for ~ 4 months. Hopefully a dealer can investigate and fix as its under warranty but I'm not holding my breath as I'm sure it'll be hard to diagnose the cause. Really wanted a super-quiet car after a Golf 5 GTI that rattled non-stop from the dash - I threw a lot of money at that having it stripped but to no avail. Yetch!

Bring it into a good dealership, mine is just 6k shy from 50k and right now I'm having them fix every little rattle/creak that I hear.
The dashboard/glove compartment pop/creak, the cruise control stalk rattle, a rattle from the rear seat headrests, and the creaking that comes from the center armrest. |

Abosolutely no squeaks, rattles, or other unwanted sounds from my convertible after a year of use. It is one of the most solid cars I've ever owned, and since I'm getting old and have always liked cars that's been quite a few.

I get a minor creak from the center console armrest, so far it's not that big of a deal to me.

During 19 months and 64,000 km with my 135i, a couple minor interior noises have come and gone, but for at least the last 8 months my car has been virtually silent. Maybe the car just needs some time to settle. Overall, this has been the most rattle/squeak-free car I've owned. I'm sure not having a sunroof helps too

My dash and glove box were getting so bad, I took the whole thing apart one weekend and put silicone spray on all the mating surfaces I could find. It's been back together for a few months and is much better. The silicone spray also seems to work well on the armrest joint that many others have had issues with.

The creaking on my seat turned out to be the rubber shroud around the seat belt recepticle. I covered it with felt material and the creak/squeak disappeared.
