"About as joyful as a German joke"
Brace yourselves. Clarkson shares his views on the 135i Convertible.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/dri...cle6849621.ece I will try not to add any comments here apart from - I've not seen that green colour in Australia... is it new? |

seriously? I never experienced anysort of cowl shake or lack of rigidity in the car and I push it fairly hard. I dont understand what his issues are.
And whats with all the trolling haters on the comments section? |

Clarkson is always an entertaining read.
But sometimes I think the need to entertain gets in the way of objective dispassionate reviewing. Considering how much he loved the 135i coupe, how can the vert be sooo much worse? Yes it has less boot space and perhaps a little more flex (though not as much as he says I am sure), but hey, it's a vert after all and one would expect that.

The only reply to Clarkson that comes to mind is
At least post a pix of a 135i vert instead of the outdated 125i green vert that was used in the 08 launch.. Today I had my 6ft 2in son in the front passenger seat, my wife and mother in law in the back and no lack of visibility or leg room.. The car is slightly more rigid than the coupe, especially on the tight twisties up and down the mountains but nothing like what he is describing.. Last edited by Zuzu; 09-27-2009 at 04:36 AM.. |

Clarkson doesn't know what he's talking about.
It's about personal choice, and if he doesn't like the mix of a beautifully spacious 2-door coupe with a bit of grunt, then he can f**k off. Zuzu: I can't imagine a 125 without M suspension anymore |

i originally wanted a vert and test drove one and ended up going with the coupe because of the extra weight too. although i found the convert to be a very solid car and handled well.

clarkson used to be really funny, but now he is very famous even he hasn't been able to stop his enormous head dissapearing up his own arse. there was so much waffle in that review the first page sounded like a giant fart when read aloud. he writes that the italians do joy but never laugh? is this a 50 year old trolling?

Let's face it Clarkson is a great populist entertainer and these days top gear is a car show in only the most casual of fashions. We are all here in spite of his coupe de grace of "The 1-series is crap" but it's really annoying how often his pronouncements are repeated as gospel. So this content free review asks you to believe that adding one of your fairly largish mate to your car will turn the experience from:
"muscular stream of power that’s never exciting or zingy, but always there, ready to arm wrestle its way into your consciousness" to "This car is as zesty as Stonehenge." So I suggest you try that and see if you can determine if there is a complete and utter change of character in a 1500kg car when you have a friend along. The answer is that there wont be, and Jeremy Clarkson is a crap car reviewer but writes entertaining shite. |

I guess this is a good example to hold up and illustrate how it doesn't matter what other people think of your car, it's what you think that matters.
And that just about wrung my wisdom gland dry for today. |
