Fair enough. After all, they used to do that with the ashtray, right?
By the way, I found a use for the blocked rear cupholder. I put one of those cupholder ashtrays in it, one with a flip-up-lid. The only trick is that, to open the lid, you have to momentarily raise the armrest, but then the vertically-raised lid will clear the lowered armrest. I only use it for cigar emergencies; normally I tip out the driver's window, but when a phone call comes in, and I need to put the cigar down to answer the phone, the ashtray's the place. I'm sure the no-food/ no-drink people are shaking their heads right now, but it's a nice benefit of a 'vert. |

I've noticed during the course of a sunny day, the front window defrost vents can be clearly seen/reflected on the lower end of the front windshield.
My other issue with the car, though minor, is the far reach and tight squeeze of the seatbelt location and the door. The easy fix is to buckle up before you close the door. No longer an issue, now. Outside of these minor annoyances, absolutely no issues/dislikes. This car is a keeper for me! Less than 12 months of payments left (woo hoo ) I love the size, comfort, style, performance, limited build compared to a 3 series, and the fact I ordered the car to my specs. I just love it all - everything about it... Cheers/B

Be thankful - I had an '01 325Ci where that part of the dash was beige (not black). The reflection was virtually constant.

Major dislikes:
1) RUNFLAT tires 2) floaty underdamped suspension tune. 3) Unpredictable and unsafe rear suspension bump-steer when driving on poor roads. 4) Reflection from aluminium dashboard trim makes sunlight a dazzling distraction. 5) Upright driving position, just like a hatchback. 6) Radio display is incompatible with polaroid sunglasses (Goes totally black unless you tile your head sidways) 7) Lack of dipstick for oil measurement. The electronic one doesn't actually work unless your oil is very low. 8) I would complain about the ugly and hopeless navigation system, but I ordered a custom build so I could get a car without it. |

One thing that I hate about the 135i (seems to be specific to this model) is that almost every 3 Series driver wants to try it on against the baby BMW, it screams race magnet for some reason. I'll be driving through town, nice and civil but eventually a 3 Series will come screaming out of a side turning just to catch me and then proceed to drive like a d1ck. IDK why, maybe to school us 'entry level' owners in driving; most notorious are 320d owners. Other than that I really love the car in all other ways except for the cruddy stock suspension which I guess most people have mentioned a lot in here.

1. Excessive brake dust (I feel like I am constantly cleaning the wheels)
2. Seems like stitching in some areas of the seats are separating in odd spots. (Top of the rear seat?) 3. Second cup holder under the arm rest (what cup / bottle did they expect to fit there other than a mini water / mini soda?) 4. Center console plastic creaks and drives me crazy (I know theres a fix, just haven't done it) |

You might be grateful it's on the wrong side if the wind grabs your door and doesn't smash it into the side of the pump.
Tank size, however, is a different problem. The only other "dislike" I've noticed now that it's summer... the A/C seems to be kinda weak. |

I am also not a huge fan of the limited horizontal vent travel. The left vent, when directed all the way to the right, doesn't even blow air on my arm if I'm holding the steering wheel. I need to have my left arm on the arm rest to feel the air. |

This one can be resolved fairly easily. First, you need to get a transparency sheet (like those used with overhead projectors). Next, sit in the car with your polarized sunglasses on, and look at the radio display like you would when driving. Now hold the transparency sheet in front of the display and start rotating it until the display becomes visible. Finally, cut out a piece of the transparency sheet that you can then place over the display permanently.

If you're running out of gas on the highway...most drivers will pull over onto the right shoulder. You'll appreciate the fact that your butt isn't hanging out in traffic while pouring gas from the jerry can.
Now I remember...it's the nasty brake dust! |

My dislikes: --The load that the A/C puts on the engine to make shifts in the summer so much less smooth. --Lower angled HID beams than a E92 (no sure why) --Dash pop --Crappy vent positions (the outer vents are only for rear passengers?) --Comfort access won't let me open the trunk unless the key is in my pocket instead of in the car

3) It keeps you on your toes, lol 4) This one too, even with darker trims, I've had some crazy reflections off the trim around the gear shifter. But this can also be resolved with aftermarket stuff 5) Hmm, I don't have that issue. Plus you shouldn't slouch, lol 6) Royal pain in the ass. I don't understand why you can't see the stereo, but you can see the AC/Heat display 7) Yeah this is annoying too 8) Wait, what? iDrive isn't standard, what do you mean? Did all the cars on the lot at the time have iDrive? Gas caps are typically (not always though) on the opposite side of the car from the exhaust. Obviously that's hard to do with a car that has true dual exhaust, but for us single-side exhausts, the gas cap is usually on the other side. |
