floor mats

hey guys: I go in tomorrow to sign papers on my 135i in preparation for my 8/7 PCD. My CA told me that the mats are $106 and that they always charge customers for them. I'm feeling pick-pocketed. I'm paying over $40K for a car and can't get free floor mats. I'm not a pushy person or good bargainer, what are the magic words I need to use so I can get my floor mats free?

Thanks.

Put it back on them with something like: "And I thought you wanted to make sure that I would be completely satisfied with the sale," impliedly threatening a bad rating should they not relent.

Alternatively, http://orderbmwparts.com/ for 62.44$ for a set of 4 mats.

I ask for free mats, he gave me the carpet and I wanted the rubber and that was arranged. It really depends on your CA but you should be able to get a voucher for one or the other...

I'm almost entirely positive that carpet mats come standard in the 135i. My dealer originally told me that they would put this in as a favor and even tried to tell me thats why they won't go off msrp but later I found out they already come standard with it. I also had to get tint done so I waited an extra day but visited my car when it arrived. During the visit, the mats were in the trunk inside a slim cardboard box with german stickers which again leads me to believe they all come standard even though dealers say otherwise.

Do not pay for one set or the other, period. I have never heard of a BMW/MINI dealership that doesn't give you one set or the other, carpet/rubber. It's a little thing but I would walk on a dealer that didn't give me floor mats especially since I always pay MSRP.

And the price he is charging you for them...you can buy them cheaper from the parts department of the dealership.

Well, I didn't get free floor mats out of them. I told them I'd go without before I paid for them. I'll get them but not from my dealer.

But I'm all set to go for my performance delivery next Thursday!!!!

From my understanding...all BMW dealers add the floor mats to thier off set cost and usually just include them.

Kind of weird they didn't give them to you...

I wanted rubber mats and the CA had no problem with it.
totally free.....

Ask!

I paid below MSRP and I am getting a carpet set and also a 68.00 credit toward the rubber set from the parts department.

I'm obviously a poor negotiator, because I did not get free mats. It's especially lame because I referred a friend to my same SA (she bought a 135i as well) and he gave *her* free mats. WTF?

I picked up my car yesterday and he took me back to the parts department and asked what I wanted. He gave me some sort of key chain and I mentioned that I asked for rubber mats when I ordered the car. He got me a set, threw the carpet mats in the trunk and installed them for me.

I wouldn't take not for an answer there man.

Well, they did give me a pretty generous discount off MSRP. So I guess I can understand. I plan to get them online.

Maybe because i got $2000 off MSRP and that's why i didn't get the mats. If i paid MSRP then i would have gotten lots of freebies. But they did give me the cheapy kind of clear mats that has the dealership name on it. It will do for now since it a weekend car.

Thanks, Wtiger127

just got my carpeted mats (changed my mind on the rubber) and a sunshade, too. Can I take them with me to my PCD and have them put in the car?

I didn't get free mats, nor did get a discount on the price of the car, either. (As an aside, I don't think I will be working with this dealer again...many issues, although my CA was great.)

Mine too! He just hand wrote "Free Floor Mats" on the purchase order. Gotta love PCS... as I told them: if car buying was this easy, I think car sales folks would be respected much more.

Floor mats should always be included in the deal,BMW does charge the dealer on certain models, but they should never be an issue, ends the sale on a very low note.
