Dumb question? Anyone just tint LCI taillights?
I was just thinking, has anyone just bought the normal LCI tails and just tinted them lightly to make them similar to Blacklines? I have to think this would be so easier than the craziness of ordering Blacklines.

I've seen it a couple times. I bet if you had it professionally spray tinted very lightly it would be virtually identical.

I've been thinking about having this done when I get my windows tinted this spring. I think I have seen one or two pictures but they had a very dark tint applied.

I put Lamin-X tint on my mothers car. Pre-LCI tails but definitely made them look better. Same with the headlights.

I used Headlight Armour's "Light Smoke" (50%) on my car. While I could have done a better job installing the film, they look great until you are just a few inches away. At that point you can see the stretching and shrinking of the film. I wanted something that I could remove if needed.

Although the tint route is a more feasible option, there is just no substitute for actual black lines. Someday I'll pick some up, but there's just so much other stuff I could do and buy for that amount of money.

tint
Looks like this guy did it and it looks REALLY good, but I can't seem to find the film that he used. Says he used 50% Lamin-x tint (and then mentions something about xenon), but when I go to the website there are a million options (gunsmoke, tint, colors, etc...) and I just don't know what to get.
https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1132575 I might just do some trial and error, but it would be great to know what he used exactly to just order it haha. Anyway, anyone have any ideas? |
