Annoying digital display
Looks like the 1 has the same annoying display like the 3. It is very much AUDI like and can't be turned off.
I don't like that stuff staring at me all the time. There needs to be a setting that turns it off after a while. I used to think the display in my E46 was bad. But I love it now compared to the new ones. |

I really prefer the digital displays as it helps to clearly display obc information without viewing the center console. Very handy.

My issue has nothing to do with the OBC codes. It has to do with how much the display is "in your face".
Talking to my salesman on Saturday he mentioned that on the 3's the display cannot be turned of completely. Even my wife's Murano can do that. As much as I love BMW's I feel that their designers miss some of the easiest items. I especially laughed at the post of the orange color. OMG, this has been the dash lights colors for Bimmers for at least 20 years if not longer. I can't remember what my '72 2002 had bur I do know that my '79 320i was orange. |

When you don't have any warnings, all it displays is the time and temperature though in a 14 pitch font. When you do have warnings, it only displays the exclamation point in a triangle.

^^^^ Now you are geting my point. That time/date is too much and it can't be dimmed or turned off.
All they needed to do is make it so you can hit the BC and let it come on. |

It can be dimmed, along with the remainder of the dash lights. Personally, I like it there and don't find it annoying in the least. To each is own though.
