Cobb Users in DC Area

Anyone in the DC area have the Cobb AP installed? I just bought the AP, but have not installed it because I read a couple posts about folks having their warranties voided (not BMW owners, but users on Cobbs) because of the ECU flash. Does anyone have any experience with this in the DC area? Basically I am curious if the dealers around DC (Fairfax or Alexandria BMW, specifically) have sniffed out your ECU flash even if it is uninstalled upon taking the car in for warranty service.

I posed a question on a Cobb thread elsewhere, but I thought it might be a good idea to throw it out here too. Thanks for the info!

i dont think the can void your warranty if the issue you are getting fixed is not related to the mod...

Granted, if you bring the car in for warranty service on the headliner, which may suddenly droop down and flop on your head, they could not allege that the Cobb AP caused it. However, the concern is really that they can detect it even after it's been uninstalled. Any thoughts on the matter?

No, they have to send the DME to Germany to know for sure.
so is mostly based on suspicion. If you drop off you car with headers, oil cooler, new FMIC gauges in your dash, they may assume you may be running some type of tune.

I pinged Rob at Cobb (always nice to rhyme your name with where you work) about my concern and he said he was unaware of anyone being detected and denied warranty service with ANY of the their tunes, regardless of platform. As far as I am concerned, that's good enough proof for me. I am going to flash my ECU on Friday when I get home. STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKED .

Oh, and he said the cruise control fix will be out in a week. As per the above, STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKED .

I definitely will. I have not even had much of a chance to drive the car stock, since I picked it up in mid-June and then had to leave again about two weeks later. I suspect if the tune is as drastic as everyone says, I will notice the difference right away. Definitely excited !

Yeah, I sure did. And I updated the maps to beta version, which restored my cruise control. Go Cobb!
