So far it has only been slightly painful on my wallet. Jon@BMWpartspros and Phil@Reeves BMW made sourcing all the parts very easy. Everything arrived from germany to my door from both dealers in about 10 days. Installing everything so far has been very easy. The front end took about 6 hours to do by myself subtracting the time I spent at the range.

Good luck with the rest of the project!
Im down. Ill try and keep up with your car.

Hopefully the 1M conversion will be done in mid feb, then Stoptechs from HPA, then turbos (RB or Vargas)

Even more impressive than the fender space is all of the space inside the wheel well. The 1M's two piece fender liner is made up of a rear e9x fender liner and the 1M specific front. There is seriously tons of room in there for rubber.

So your front will stay ER or it will be full body conversion?

I'm curious what the logistics for the back are. Are you going to drive down to LA and fly back, then fly down to pick it up? How long did they say it would take to do the rear?

In for updates. Id love to see this car in person when its done too. The front seems easy enough, its the rear that makes me a little nervous. Where are you taking it to have the rear done? I dont know of any reputable body shops around here. Also, are they just flaring the rear fenders or are they molding the specific 1M rear fenders with the 135 fenders? Looks great so far!

That was my original plan. I was going to have my side skirts extended, rear arches cut, welded and shaped and the rear bumper extended. I later found out going full 1M wouldn't be that much more as you are only doing custom work to the fender arches as the skirts and rear bumper are widened from the factory.

Venom and I will drive down during a weekend, drop the cars off and fly back. I will either arrange a ride to LA to pick it up, or I will fly down and have a friend take me to El Monte.

The rear will be cut, welded extensions and then moulded to match the 1m lines. The fenders will be built to match up with the lines from the OEM 1m side skirts and bumper.

Don't give away all our secrets

Great thread buddy, can't wait til insurance clears so I can write up my own

Stoked for our trip!

Everyone in Socal CLEAR UP A SUNDAY OR SATURDAY NIGHT THAT WORKS BEST FOR A MEETUP NEAR EL MONTE!!!
For NorCal folks: when is bimmerfest this year? where is it? When and where does the Bay Area want to meet up? I'd be down to hit up a new road as long as it's reasonable.

Looking good. I have a few questions though. Do you think it would look strange with just the 1M front end? And do the regular stock side skirts fit with the wide front end?

Fantastic, I love the looks of the 1M bumper but it's to aggressive to run it with out doing side fenders... and there are no good 1M replica non-widebody ones that arn't fiber glass. I figure if the OEM 1M bumper and fenders will fit my car with my performance side skirts, that might be the route to go.
