ESS Flash Tune for N55
Anyone used it? The company is Norwegian and seems legit but I can find very few people online who are using this tune for N55.
The main attraction to this tune is it claims to remove the factory speed limiter. |

Question about Cobb AccessTuner / map editing below.
Well, to update this thread, I bought a Cobb and a JB4. Factory speed limit will be intact but we can address that issue later if Cobb never fixes it. In reality they can buy the necessary information / code from the european tuners who have delimited the N55 even if they can't figure it out themselves, so if enough of us organize and complain that may be worth a shot. Anyway, the JB4 is to run my meth kit and the Cobb is for everything else. My ECU should work with it just need to get the correct software if I don't already have it. So has anyone used AccessTuner software? My continued use of the Cobb is more or less contingent on being able to edit the maps myself. Does Cobb rename all the maps with silly / incorrect names or do they use the factory Bosch map names? All my previous tuning experience is in WinOLS. |

I have the ESS tune. I 100% recommend it. Make sure you give them a full list of mods so they can build the best tune for you. Yes the Speed limiter is actually removed with the ESS tune. Make sure you tell them you are DCT as well. There is a second governor built into the Transmissions control module and they have to know you have the DCT so they mod that map.

I'm strongly considering this tune as I'm 2013 DCT... Initially it's a bench tune where the Ecu is removed... Once that's done it can be tuned from the obd there after!! Stock Tune it's about 15 PSI...

The boost is a solid 15psi on 93. I don't have a way to log right now. I'll figure something out and make a thread about it.

Can't be done. Also in order to bench flash the DME, you need to extract the password for it before you can remove the stock file. this can only be done on a bench flash and is required every time you need to change the tune.

These guys supposedly can flash via obd after the first removal of the dme. They are focusing on f series but I believe they can do e series as well. I don't know much about them though. Just mentioning it since they have stated they can flash via obd after initial removal of the dme.
