M front bumper on a non-M 118i hatch
Dear all,
This is my first time posting here and I am from Singapore.1 series is not a very popular car here so I'd love to hear some advices from all of you. I recently had a minor accident and decided to change my front bumper to a M-tech bumper from a local workshop. My 118i hatch is a normal facelift version manufactured in 2008 Sep. However, after the modification, bumper is nicely done and fixed. But due to the different between a non-M and M front panel. I have the 5 questions: 1) No brake air ducts installed from the workshop. The two holes between fog lights and central lower grille look extremely empty (areas in green circle on the picture below). If I order the air ducts, shall I order the 51747906805(806) or 51747906803(804)? 805 and 806 are in the list of my 118i parts for M aerodynamic package. 803 and 804 are in the list for 130i (two pairs of air ducts do look different!). The reason why I use 130i to compare is all 130i in Singapore are on M package. I believe the M-tech front bumper on my car now is the M front bumper for 130i. My concern is that I could order 803 and 804 which will fit the bumper but it may not fit the hole for brake air duct on the arch (wheel housing)? 2) There is a crack at central lower grille area (in red circle on the picture below) due to the accident. However, I am not sure which part is this on the front panel? or it is the front panel itself? i don't believe it is the intermediate part air duct center bottom as I don't think it is installed on my model. How do you think? also to make the transform complete and due to the difference for front panel mounting and air ducts between M and non-M package, I will also purchase the below parts. Do you think they are necessary or did I miss anything else below? 3) Do I need to purchase new wheel housing for the front wheels? 4) Do I need to purchase any parts from underbonnet screen? 5) Do I need to purchase any intermediate part air duct center bottom 51647836650 (from 118i list) or 51117906810 (from 130i list)? many thanks and cheers! |
