A few nice track pics and a vid
So I went out to the track last Thursday for the first time in 6 months.
The car ran OK when I turned the boost right down. It was the first time I've done more than one lap on R-Comps and the car felt quite well sorted. Managed a new PB of 67.1 for the long track of Barbagallo Raceway despite some rusty driving. So as expected tyres make a much bigger difference than the extra power I've wasted so much time chasing. Video below and some nice pics from the night, and full mod list at the bottom. Few things stand out-
- I should have driven this track before moving back to VIC - DCT shifts rather quick - Car sounds awesome Are you going to leave it another six months? :P |

Geez it holds on and pulls well in the straights doesn't it? I like the look of some of those cambered corners. Never driven there, just Victoria.
How did you find the night driving? I've only done it a couple of times and find I'm a second or two off.

Glowing red front rotors are sick!
That thing picks up speed like a rocket! Nice driving and balls of steel for doing so in the dark ... ;-)

Thanks guys, interesting about the comments on how hard it's pulling. That's with the boost turned down to 15psi for consistency. I've had it up to 21psi on the road but it's not reliable/consistent at that level.
The club usually runs the events on Thursday nights from 6-11pm, which is convenient as you don't have to miss any work or lose a day from your weekend. I've driven that track more at night than day time so it seems normal to me. It used to be worse as the down hill right hand corner out the back (the bowl), used to have no light at all which made judging braking and turn in points pretty hard. One big plus with night driving is that the braking shots look much more dramatic |

What were you chasing? (it moves out pretty well)
Never used a G Force gauge but, if it's accurate it looks like you can get deeper into the throttle on exit than you can right now (turn the boost up). |
